With CPJ telling him midseason that he wasn't happy, TStan should have already been testing the waters with Satterfield (and maybe he did...)
Every competent AD in the country should have a list of 3-5 coaches they would call immediately, in order, upon needing to hire a new coach. It's becoming more and more apparent that TStan actually has a list, but the only person on it is Whisenhunt.

I’m not sure about that. He may be in NYC with a round of interviews today and tomorrow and we are all worked up for nothing.

Or he could be completely incompetent and the Whisenhunt contract is being drawn up right now.

You're right, he could be doing those things. But without any visibility at all, we can only judge him based on his public actions. Those actions include:

  1. Not getting us a 12th game to make a bowl last season, when every other team seems to have found that to be trivial, both last year and this year. Hell, VT not only managed to do it, but they scheduled it conditionally and then made a better bowl than us as a result.
  2. Completely blowing the bowl game this year (that's two years in a row he royally dropped the ball on our bowl game, for those keeping score...0 for 2)
  3. As far as we know, he's only talked to Whisenhunt. All others have denied even being contacted, or acted like they haven't been contacted (e.g. Satterfield, who I would imagine would tell UL to hold on and wait a bit if he was talking to GT).

How is that becoming more and more apparent? From unconfirmed rumors about teams including ours hiring people they havent even interviewed?

Absolutely agree on 1 and 2, but I’d add that he’s earned some money for the athletic program and was respected by PJ. That means something to me.

Of course, I’m not happy with the Whisenhunt rumors.

In fairness, they did fire Petrino 3 weeks ago.
Fairness? It is time we started being fair to Ga Tech instead of a “good ole boys club.”

Now, I don’t really know what all has or not happened except it sounds like we talked to whiz today.

But, if many are to be believed, TStan had a very good indication that CPJ said something to him earlier in the season about retiring.

What has TStan been doing? Going to the Waffle House and drinking coffee with curry?

I hope things change, but will not be surprised if this entire thing goes south.

Would no longer be surprised if TStan was hired for one reason only - and we know what that is.

All this as the festering anti-Athletic Prez sits in the Tower laughing at that which hurts us.

Do we have any major donors that are not in the 80's Curry clique? We have had three coaches since then who were much more successful than Curry (Ross, O'Leary and Johnson). Curry had one season out of seven with more than six wins.

I don't understand why everyone expects to know so much about the coaching search. Sure, Twitter is ubiquitous, and there are a crap ton of little news outlets like bleacherreport that seem to exist only to circulate rumors, but not everyone can be an "insider." The guys behind the paywalls at scout and rivals know just as much as we do... Not a damn thing. Did any of y'all hear Satterfield linked to Louisville before his supposed hiring was announced, despite his name being thrown around for the GT opening? Everyone needs to chill the öööö out... The Tennessee coaching search was such a ööööshow because it was so public, and because their toothless hillbilly fanbase amplified all of the rumors, and organized a riot to protest Schiano, etc. Honestly, I'd prefer Stansbury do his thing without our "help" and focus on hiring the best coach, rather than appeasing the fanbase with information teasers over the next few weeks that it will likely take to hire someone.
