ACC blows

Paul Hewitt recruited incredibly well. He was just a ööööty coach.

This is the problem that our AD has to figure out eventually. Find a coach that has a dynamic enough personality to get ACC caliber players to come to GT, fully understanding the associated academic rigors that is competent with the X and O aspect also. We won't succeed with someone that can meet one or the other and not both.

as expected, the ACC is sucking it up this bowl season. Other than duke, ACC teams (including us) are losing and looking bad doing it.

Here’s hoping that uva gets a zima bottle shoved up its ass in Charlotte.

Uh-oh, Syracuse upset WVU by more than 2 touchdowns, that's more bad news for you.

Syracuse is in a unique position of selling those kids a Big 10 type setting, but you get to go to FSU, Clemson, NC State, etc... on an every other year rotation instead of staying planted up north all season. Get some of those big northern kids. Pitt is in the same boat. I'd sell myself as NOT being State Penn.

We need to care how the ACC does because it has an impact on our recruiting, among other things. Top recruits want to play in top conferences (like the SEC) not in clown conferences.
I'm pretty sure that how much we care is not going to affect anything.

Also, the SEC is leading the nation in revenue sharing among its schools, and it's not too surprising which Power 5 conference comes in last among revenue,

You can probably rank this list by living alumni or current student base or average stadium size and it looks the same. The dollars are a matter of scale and audience.

I think this gets way overblown. Alabama carries the rest of the SEC.

If you made a list with our issues regarding recruiting, the fact we play in the ACC (and the Coastal at that) has to be way down there.

Say what?

I think there is potential to help GT if the ACC does well in bowl games.

But saying bama carries the SEC?

Although many bowl games remain to be played, the strength of ugag, uf, usc, Auburn, LSU, aTm are not because of bama.

Gotta be impressed by the job the Cuse coach has done.

Has Bobby Dodd CoY been selected yet?

Yeah a large, public state school also greatly increases your odds that at least one of your alumni will hit the jackpot in business and become a $100M+ donor. GT alums are wealthy but you dont get super rich by working for a corporation/company.

That is obviously wrong, unless you think "fans caring" is unrelated to attendance, merchandise, donations, TV viewers, etc. And none of that is true.

Not sure what you mean by a Big 10 type setting? It's bloody cold and snowy all winter? If you have friends and family nearby, that matters. Otherwise, why would anyone prefer West Lafayette, Indiana over Charlottesville, Virginia?

More beer and thicker women?

lol I love how Purdue’s location is always used as an indication of middle of nowehere Big Ten country.

It’s actually pretty nice.

Everyone's got their own preferences, but pretty sure you'll find real estate a lot more expensive in and around Charlottesville than West Lafayette.

Not disagreeing just laughing at Purdue always being used.
