I have some more coaching news

Ok here's the summary so far, so we can make our best educated guesses at the vacancies (and for @BuzzLaw I'll post last 3 stops of each):

OC/QB - Dave Patenaude (Georgetown, Coastal Carolina, Temple)
DC/LB - Andrew Thacker (UCF, Kennesaw St., Temple)
RB - Tashard Choice (Indianapolis Colts [player], Dallas Cowboys [intern], North Texas)
WR - Kerry Dixon (FIU, Florida, Toledo)
S/co-DC - Nathan Burton (West Alabama, NC State, Temple)
CB/D-ST - Jeff Popovich (FIU, UTSA, Boise St.)

3 for offense and 3 defense, that leaves 4 openings. Most likely the following:

OL
DL
TE
LB

One of these will also likely hold offensive special teams responsibilities and one will also be the recruiting coordinator.
My guess is this:

OL - Brent Key (with co-OC/assistant HC title) - I imagine Key would be recruiting coordinator also.

DL - Jim Panagos (Temple DL coach - his name has been removed from Temple staff page) (also rumors of Lance Thompson from USCe filling this position)

TE - Chris Wiesehan maybe? (Temple OL coach, name also removed from Temple staff page) could help Key with the OL coaching and focus on TE's.

LB - Larry Knight (Temple OLB coach, name also removed from Temple staff page) Augusta native.

Any better guesses?

FYI, Choice was drafted by the Cowboys and played 3 full seasons there. Started several games his rookie season I believe.

You have the Colts down. Did he even play there?
Yes. He played for the Cowboys til 2011, then Redskins, then Bills til 2013, then Colts for his last season as a player. I have the last 3 jobs down for each of the newly hired coaches. Did you miss that part? Besides which, I'm pretty sure that on that list, everyone here knows TC's history.

Well it just seems strange. He had 11 carries at Ind. Was with Buffalo for parts of 2 years before that.

I had left the Bills out, edited my post while you were replying apparently. Anyway, point is I was just posting the last 3 jobs/stops for everyone. His didn't really matter that much I figured because everyone should know his history.

Maybe we can eliminate the 10 yard cushion on 3rd and 5.
According to an interview CGC gave on the radio (forget which station), we’re going to be playing press man all the time...for whatever that’s worth. I’m looking forward to eliminating the cushion as well.

Definitely looking forward to that. I never understood why our previous staffs preferred to give the cushion, and give up the ability to disrupt the route timing.

Our corners will be baiting with the 10 yard cushion for the pick six when they jump the route
Speaking of jumping the route, I was out yesterday and saw your mom on her jogging route.

Lots of us jumped that route.

Temple fans all seem glad that Patenaude is gone and most even saying he will be the weak link in the staff here.

Also, unrelated, but CGC is following Brent Key on twitter FWIW.

I definitely don't see Patenaude as some sort of home run hire, but I'm encouraged that he has a good history of adjusting his scheme and run/pass ratio to fit his personnel.

And Temple fans seem to have a lot of experience with losing coaches to more appealing programs over the last decade, so they probably have the "We won't miss him" refrain down pat by now.

Well it looks like you got 3 of those right. Still no OL coach but I am guessing you'll 4 for 4

Patenaude is no Lincoln Riley or anything, but I'm optimistic about this hire. From all I've read Temple did not have a very good QB. When he was at Coastal Carolina his teams put up very good offensive numbers, and had a bunch of guys nominated for the Walter Payton award (FCS heisman basically).

here's a good article

Apparently the Atlanta United woman who interviewed CGC at MBS a few weeks back is related by marriage to Burton.

Which now makes sense why she mentioned she's always been a GT fan. I just figured she was just going on about GT in the interview to get CGC to talk a little bit more.
