When they hired Dabo I thought Clemson was getting ready to deemphasize football. I thought he was a terrible hire. Then in the off-season I was traveling one night and heard a long radio interview with him. You could tell he had learned a lot in his time at Alabama. He was bright and articulate and very funny. I changed my mind after that interview. I was convinced that if Clemson would give him time he would be a success. Credit Bowden for recognizing his ability and recommending him on his way out. He checks all the boxes - built a great staff, recruits better than just about anyone, good with media, great with alums and bringing in the cash, facilities second to none, good team chemistry, but can make tough decisions when he needs to, such as the QB change this year. We need him to go to the NFL. He is going to win for a long time if he stays at Clemson.
