I’m curious. If Dabo had given a player tickets to the Super Bowl would that lead to them having to forfeit their ACC win?

Well, of course not, so let me rephrase that hypothetical. If a Tech coach had given a player tickets to th SB would we have to shut down our program, and maybe even Georgia Tech altogether and bulldoze and bury Bobby Dodd stadium so there was no sign of GT football ever existing?

When they hired Dabo I thought Clemson was getting ready to deemphasize football. I thought he was a terrible hire. Then in the off-season I was traveling one night and heard a long radio interview with him. You could tell he had learned a lot in his time at Alabama. He was bright and articulate and very funny. I changed my mind after that interview. I was convinced that if Clemson would give him time he would be a success. Credit Bowden for recognizing his ability and recommending him on his way out. He checks all the boxes - built a great staff, recruits better than just about anyone, good with media, great with alums and bringing in the cash, facilities second to none, good team chemistry, but can make tough decisions when he needs to, such as the QB change this year. We need him to go to the NFL. He is going to win for a long time if he stays at Clemson.

Close to zero chance of him going to the NFL. He isn't an X & O guru, he operates well as the CEO type and leaves the X's and O's to quality coordinators. He is at a place where he has more talent than anyone his team plays during the regular season. Lots of admin and fan support for the program, zero recruiting restrictions, etc. He's big man on campus at a place that's easy to win and he makes a ton of $$$.

No way would he be dumb enough to go to the parity driven NFL where he isn't going to out-athlete anyone and sure as hell won't be out-coaching anyone.

Clemson's issue for a # of years was hiring guys like Tommy West and Tommy Bowden that aren't very good coaches nor are they the good CEO/head cheerleader type that Dabo is.

Yep. He’s at Clemson the next 15 or so years unless he wants to go to Alabama when Saban retires. If Venables leaves, he will be tough to replace but Venables may never leave.

Dabo was 27-19 without BV. Dabo is 89-11 with BV. His 11 losses with Venables have mostly been against great teams.

2012 - FSU and SC
2013 - FSU and SC
2014 - UGA, FSU, and GT
2015 - Bama
2016 - Pitt
2017 - Syracuse and Bama

When he was hired, I thought Dabo was cliche and shallow. He has surrounded himself with talented, energetic assistants that can recruit and he pays them very well. I was recently in their indoor practice facility and weight room...second to none. Fund raising is not a problem. Fan support is tremendous. He's driving a train that will be hard to stop. I think he goes to Bama if he wants when Sabah retires. I don't see him going anywhere else or allowing Clemson to digress.

I like Clemson as much as any rival and I'm on the Dabo bandwagon too but I will nitpick one thing. There is no reason at all FSU shouldn't have as much or more talent than Clemson. The fact that they magically imploded about the time he took over has helped him tremendously.

Very true. Clemson is on their longest winning streak vs. FSU and it doesn't seem like it will stop anytime soon.
