Possible 5* UGA Transfer to GT

I think it says a lot about our program that this possiblity is not nearly as interesting as it would have been in pretty much every season before this going back quite a ways.

Read between the lines. How hard is it to get kicked out of school as a football player at UGA? You either would have to suck or you would have to be a locker room cancer. This guy played in 12 games last year as a freshman, so they must not have thought he sucked. It sounds like this guy was such a pain in the ass they booted him even though it was a minor infraction and he was a contributing player. Do you want that in your locker room?

We don't really know the whole story so I'll reserve judgment overall, but I agree that he clearly does not suck. No way they would be looking to run him off based on football ability. Are we sure they are running him off? Is it reasonable to consider he was unhappy and chose to part with the team on his own?

Now that we have a clearly defined culture and some juice, I have no doubt about two things:

Kids who weren't interested before are now interested; and
Slots are available only to those who, in the staff's opinion, fit our system on our terms.

This will no doubt be the source of some overdue butthurt.

Yes. Especially if he hates uga.

Are we sure UGA ran him off? I haven't seen that anywhere.

As far as the pot thing, IMO that is not that big of a deal. I guarantee a lot of our players are users as well - it is what it is. Getting arrested was a dumbass mistake and one that he should never make again, but it surely doesn't make him a "locker room cancer". That would be a much bigger problem, IMO.

1) I can not believe a "journalist" decided to write an article based on a single vague tweet

2) The pot charge is a red flag but it shouldn't be the final say

3) Not sure why people thing Smart running him off means he is a bad apple; Smart is making promises in recruiting that he can't keep and all evidence is that he doesn't care about the kids at all. He is all business and he doesn't care about the future of the players. I expect recruits are going to figure it out.

In fact, the Dwag nation story the day before yesterday was that Cox was a good kid and it was the other player that was a bad apple and got Cox in trouble.

According to those in the kno.....GT isn't taking him. Hard pass on attitude.

It's not him. It is the idea that we'd be mentioned, no matter tenuously, instead of assuming he'll go straight to another factory.

Who knows? If we have a little success maybe the occasional 4 or 5 star might even want to come here instead of wasting a year or 2 sitting behind 2 others in Athens.
We are a factory now.

I trust the staff's judgment if that is the case. They also might want to tell Ezzard to be careful with the tweets if the AJC is going to make clickbait based off of them.

Seriously doubt he minds that especially if it keeps our name in headlines and not in a negative light.

Kid couldn't grasp the playbook. He got burned a few times on critical plays.
