Money Down!

It's cheesy now

BUT

fast forward - we start winning some big games, get on Saturday night primetime

We are ranked, and face a ranked opponent, we get a big third down stop

To celebrate, Tech fans throw cash bundles on the field. Actual money - a couple dozen fifty count stacks of $1 bills or something bigger for the folks sitting in the gold seats.

Twitter erupts: "lmaoooooo they are throwing stacks on the field in Atlanta"

All the money goes to the Isenhour toy drive. Croots love it.

NCAA gives us the death penalty. What a ride.

I actually liked the students throwing the Collins bills up in the air. That was a nice touch.

I remember watching Florida do it (jumping with the signs) when he was DC there at the SEC championship game. Didn't seem cheesy then because their D was ridiculous and it made sense that it was a focus area. I have no issue with the signs on the sidelines and the students doing their thing, but hearing it announced felt over the top IMO.

I have a feeling that the money down stuff will play a lot better when we are in a big night game against an opponent fans care about

(If we ever get a night game)

All hype but that seems to be what we (and most of college football) is becoming. For an old codger like me, it just isn't enjoyable.

That "It's thiiirrrdd down" sounds like what the loser Falcons do and they suck on defense. I like "Money Down" better, esp. given today's results on D.

I thought the overly verbose “that’s another first and ten Georgia Tech” was more annoying than Money Down. But if we keep getting lit up on third down, the Money Down thing is going to wear thin, too.
