This is rock bottom, we have reachedYeah right! We cover
I believe he is a good coach but the ugag machine would be against him (nobody gives this the thought it deserves, it even has blinded lots of our own fans at times). He would also have more strict academics to work with.Duke has gotten quite a bit better under Cutcliffe. I will always wonder how he would have fared here if DRad had hired him and not PJ.

Cutcliffe can do the one thing that is very hard for many programs but especially GT: get a good QB to want to come there. As long as he was allowed to recruit at a high level without heavy restrictions he would have likely done very well at GT.
Now at the time, I didn't see much of a difference and I think Johnson did better in 2008 & 2009 than he would have done but after that, Cut might have been better because we might have been more balanced and been able to improve the defense.
At the end of the day, it would have come down to recruiting and defensive coaching. Johnson never got it quite right but was able to be competitive by playing to win on offense.
Just to be clear, I loved Johnson and he had at great 7 year run but I do try and be honest.

Ya think?Looks like the lines have moved to -18.5. The books must be really struggling to get money on GT.
Not sure about that... I understand the logic behind the argument, but Duke football plays second fiddle to basketball in a major way. The stadium is a joke. Fans don’t go to the games at all.Recruiting at GT is much harder than at Duke. Duke is private and has many easy majors in which to stash athletes. Academically, the Duke brand is better than GT's too.

I have degrees from both schools and agree GT has a higher football ceiling in terms of attracting talent, assuming GT gets its act together.Maybe it is harder at GT but GT has a higher ceiling. That seems about right to me. I think Duke admin might be more helpful that GT but that is an after they are in school thing.
They will never run the option as good as we did. Not even a chanceRemember, Duke runs the option now. Wouldn’t bet on GT covering.
