Duke -17.5

They will never run the option as good as we did. Not even a chance
That was a tongue in cheek comment.

Duke tried running option against Bama and didn’t do near as well as GA Southern did a few years ago.

The line is back down to 17.5 now. Seems to be settling in.

Duke's B-back wasn't eventually arrested for aggravated assault and battery, like Southern's was. Dude was a beast. Apparently, in more ways than one. One of Southern's slotbacks that day also made the NFL as a safety, and the QB is a RB on IR with the 49ers.

Recruiting at GT is much harder than at Duke. Duke is private and has many easy majors in which to stash athletes. Academically, the Duke brand is better than GT's too.

Having gone to a game in Durham, Duke's gameday experience really weighs against it. I showed up and they had general admission tickets for $5 and reserved for $10. No assigned seats. It was basically a high school game. Plus Duke is in Durham versus GT in Atlanta.

I don't know if those disadvantages outweigh the advantages you cite. It's hard to add them all up to compare two places.

girls. Girls galore in that area. Granted Atlanta has some lookers as well, but the colleges in the Triangle have top notch talent.

Good friend of mine attended UNC the same time as Julius Peppers. He said Peppers would show up late to class walking his dog with two blonde bimbos. The professors would be like “what’s the matter back there?” ... because everyone was like “holy öööö, he’s actually in class!”

When I was in school Joe Hamilton came in the first day and the prof asked for his autograph.. that was Joes last day in class too

I may be wrong, but my general sense is that there's probably more attractive young black women in Atlanta than in the triangle.

I think you've made a wrong assumption about the type of women these athletes are looking for primarily. The Julius Peppers anecdote is pretty much spot on.

You may be right. From my very limited experience noticing the personal lives of GT athletes whom I occasionally see in social contexts, there aren't that many inter-racial couples. But I acknowledge I am no expert in such matters!

Had a class w/Joe, he sat in the back next to me and was there every time. *shrug*

Guess that professor didn't ask him for an autograph.

I’ve heard him talk on the radio. I believe you.
