Third down/money down at UNC game

I noticed that the PA announcer alternated between saying "It's third down!" and "It's money down!" seemingly at random during the UNC game. Pivotal downs were equal parts third/money. Do you think this is some official mandate from the GTAA, or is it because he got embarrassed saying money down?

I also heard our band playing f-tuning on random downs, which weirds me out having heard it on every third down for at least 20 years.

Same thing was happening during the Citadel game. The only game where he said money down on 3rd every time was USF.

UNC took the damn money and went straight to the bank.

At least I won't hear it this weekend at Wallace Wade.

I am more pro band on 3rd down than money down.... or how about announce 3rd down with ca-ching sound or some other ominous noise ... and let the band play!

The PA announcer needs a spotter so he can announce the tackler before the beginning of the next play.

This. It should be an untouchable part of game day on the flats. F-Tuning has been the best third down panic attack-soundtrack in the nation since I was a kid.
