Well, the week before he said there was NO improvement in the team. I'm not sure he can be correct both weeks.

I'm not sure if he writes the way he does just to push buttons or if he has a hard time being logical or consistent.
I haven’t payed him any mind this season to be honest. Seems like he hasn’t watched the games. But he did acknowledge we had two go ahead scores taken off the board.

So if we had that 10 points and Miami misses 0 field goals we still win. You have to account that we were gashing them in the run game.

Sounds like a normal Wednesday to Wednesday span on ST this season.

If we had been up 4 starting their last drive they would not have settled for a FG attempt.

Miami was this year's 2015 FSU. USF and Citadel were our other two wins. Except we lost to the Citadel so we'll go 2-10.

I started this thread just to pick on the dwags for losing to SC, but now I’m claiming it as the reason we beat Miami. I’ll have to start another thread Saturday at precisely the same time with precisely the same amount of juice and just maybe it’ll work.

And if it continues to work, there may only be minimal ST survivors.

Lets be honest It takes some pretty bad coaching to take a bowl team and turn around and lose to an 0-2 FCS program. The only conclusion from this season thus far is that the coaching staff, and especially coach Collins, are not yet up to this job. They may grow into it. This is what worried me from day one about Coach Collins and all the social media hype. He’s had two seasons as a HC and let’s be honest, there isn’t much track record there (it’s Temple!) so the hyperbole always felt forced and compensating for a lack of substance. Now he has to turn it down, get to basics and try to build credibility. I’m not optimistic. The sales pitch was the hype would lead to better talent, but who’s hyped to come hear now, and what if we win 0-1 more from here on?

Final thoughts... you wanna change the culture? JUST WIN BABY! That being said what I am watching is awful coaching performance week in and week out. No one expected GT to be that good ( 3-4 wins) But the Jackets aren't getting any better. Each time GT seems to move forward in one area it regresses in another.
Who proved you wrong ? This staff did.

This is a ridiculous comment in its entirety.

Alabama in Nick Saban's first year lost to University of Louisiana Monroe, a team they beat 41-7 the previous year.

Was Nick Saban, winner of multiple MNCs already at that point, not up to the job? It's very difficult for first year losses to tell you anything about the coaching. And that's without even factoring in the radical change in offensive systems.

Most fans evaluate the performance of their team's coach in a binary fashion; they win or they lose. But anyone watching the games objectively would see that the win over Miami wasn't a mid-season fluke. Looking back to the Duke and UNC games, there were indications of improvement leading up to this victory. James Graham securing the starting QB role, winning the second half scoring, and winning the total yardage stat were clear signs of progress and evidence that we were becoming more competitive in the conference. This is not the same team that lost to Citadel and failed to score on offense against Temple. Opponents will adjust their defense as our offense evolves, and we might not get another win, but Patenaude deserves credit for developing a competent offense from the disaster we saw a month ago.

One offensive touchdown in regulation. Don't count your chickens on our offense yet.

There may be some future point, perhaps after NC State, where you can count chickens. But not yet.

The D's performance wasn't all bad though.

It's college football. There are 17-23 year old kids playing a game that requires discipline and focus.

After this weekend, I'd say we have a punchers chance against anyone else on the schedule. Heck, if it's raining in Atlanta Saturday after Thanksgiving, we've got a very good shot.

The offense does concern me after only one TD in regulation, but they are showing improvement. I have no expectations of W's the rest of the way, but they can be had. It will be a fun rest of the season as the pressure is always on our opponent.

You guys need to stop with these Nick Saban comparisons. Saban won 7 games his first year at Bama with 2 wins over teams in the top 20. In fact he beat a 20th ranked Tennessee 41-17. More importantly, Saban also won more games his first year at Bama than Bama had won the previous year. And no, Saban had not won multiple MNCs prior to that year, he had won a single MNC while at LSU. That's not a slight on CGC, those two situations are vastly different.

About the only similarity to Bama and Saban in 2007 is the dimensions of the football field (I think we even use a different football {Adidas - Dime vs Nike Vapor Elite} than Bama used).

Bright spot to consider is that the offense has an off week to help figure out how to get TO more involved and more touches.

Not sure if you watched the game or read my post. The offense was moving the ball much more effectively against Miami, converting consecutive 3rd downs, and mixing up play selection well. We ran against a defense that had been shutting teams down against the run. My point was that we have been getting better, not that we are a becoming a top notch offense. We didn't finish drives and we are still committing some dumb penalties. Nowhere in my post do I suggest more than that.
