I got a couple more general comments I'm willing to share...

I'm gonna go ahead and get the ugly out of the way. Georgie has a really good D, full of future NFLers. Fast is an understatement. #2 looks like he has another gear compared to our guys. It pains me to compliment them even backhandedly but iiwii.

I dreaded going to this game. Dwag fans are scum. Only the early start saved it from being truly awful in the stands. I wasnt alone. GT fans don't show up. At what point do we admit GT fans are unwilling to make this a home game? The heathens come in and literally drive us out by making Bobby Dodd unliveable. We should have moved this game to the Dome. We could have bought a lot of helicopter rides and support staff with the millions we could have made.

Obviously Bobby Dodd is a sacred place, but I believe we need to claim the Dome as ours as well. We own the 404 and that includes the literally walkable from campus center of the college football universe. I simply cant respect the "dont move the Georgie home game" when it is barely a home game now.

(Yeah, yeah, lets keep doing the same thing and expecting different results)

Anyway, more important, college football is a special game. A combination of talent, emotion, and "chess". Briefly, before we put the season to bed, I want to note how this team really excelled at the emotional aspect. However, the recruiting rankings said we had a talent disparity and they were absolutely correct. Its a huge gap. Iiwii.

Step 1 though is the emotion, and this staff has it. Step 2 is closing the talent gap and that will take time. Signing day matters. We need the commits. And a great class in 2021 as well.

What frustrates me is idiots jumping straight on Step 3, the chess aspect. As if there is any way to tell what kind of chess players we have when they basically have the king and 15 pawns to work with. We all agree that the jury is still completely out on if they can coach or not. However, right now Lombardi himself aint pulling out wins over Clemson or Georgie without better talent, and this staff in one year has us on the cusp of a historic class. If they actually build on that, lookout. Because the ACC Coastal is goal 1, and its absolutely a reasonable goal if we close out with a little more help on the DL.

Optimism is the only way to be people. Pessimism sucks. Lets close the talent gap and see where that takes us.

Amazing that GT fans weren’t willing to drive into Atlanta and sit through a game where we were +19 after the historic season we’ve had...

I made it, but I ain't throwing no stones. Dwag fans make it unbearable. Literally dangerous, particularly if the game is later.

Another thread is making a great point on the money. Unless one of us hits the lotto, we have to consider milking those ööööers for the millions that we will then use to buy the coaches and players to beat them with. At $100 a ticket average the gate would be $3million more at MB, and I would sell the tickets for $200 average and aim for $11million more gate.

There's basically only two things a fan can do to help Tech football... give money and show up to games. The fan who complains that we're not good enough to justify his support is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I had a sense of duty to go to make sure that there was at least one gold shirt in my section. Then I yelled out the stuff to Budweiser which pissed off all of the uga fans around me because they couldn’t hear their stupid 4th quarter thing. The old woman behind me bitched the rest of the game because I stood and bobbed in her way and yelled out the stuff so she couldn’t hear. That made it all worth it.

Amazing to me that a GT grad who claims to be a fan (a word that is short for fanatical) would make such a statement as you made to me is completely befuddling. Being a fan of a team means that you show up during good or bad times. Otherwise, you're a frigging bandwagon fan.

Actually a bit more...the ticket price for that game was $125 this year. I don't think you'd have an issue getting $225 per ticket at all.

Agreed. I cant understand why we dont milk the delusional dwag fans for 10-20 million like that. Clemson too.

Speaking of which, when did it start becoming OK to let opposing bands play while the home band is playing? I hope to hell we play Budweiser over that dumb öööö in Athens next year.

It has always been that way at GT/UGAg. I'm just glad we ruined their end of the 3rd quarter stupid whatever the hell that is song with "Budweiser". We also killed off some of their postgame with "The Horse"

And yes, I was there for every single second of all of it.

Can we not allow them to have their band here? I’ve always thought that would be a good idea. So they won’t let us take our band to athens —- who cares.

They’ve always played while Tech plays. They used to play during Bud in the early 2000s and then we’d go over there and sit silently to respect their “traditions.” It pissed me off to no end. Bud should always start as soon as the 3rd is whistled over.

also - this was the first game I liked the DJ. He did a really good job of cranking the volume and playing the PA over the uga band and to keep them from getting organized cheers.

The band has missed one game in recent history and it was not pretty. It occurred in Kansas.

there’s also old forklore about why Tech sends a band to all games.

This. When he did that about 3 times in a row yesterday, I smiled and thought..."That dude earned his money today".

Yep. 100% agree. Their fans barely got any organized cheers going at all. VPI had much more fan organized cheering.

The only thing I remember from their fans was they started woofing -literally woofing like a dog, when Swilling so brilliantly baited Pickens into disqualifying himself from the first half of the SECCG.

I’m not familiar with all that but it won’t change my opinion — just don’t allow uga to have a band section. We won’t be able to se d ours —oh well. Their band has a much bigger impact in our small stadium that is at least half red than our band in their massive toilet bowl.
