Ok lets take a look at Coach Collins roster before current players transfer... (not saying folks are going to but it seems every year at Georgia Tech a few players leave) With the Current Class (2020) at 23 and the 3 transfers who had to sit (Clayton, Allen, Ezzard) Coach Collins hits the number 85 spot on! 2017 has 19, 2018 has 18, 2019 has 21, 2020 has 23 and four transfers equals 85. Sometimes it comes down to coaching. Pulling for Coach Collins all the way, but now is the time to quit with the excuses and just start coaching. Collins hasn’t shown me anything positive as a game day head coach yet, but maybe next year he can get back to the Georgia Tech historic avg of 7 wins and change my mind!

That will be 19 four stars on the roster!!! If the Coaching is solid Tech should at least win 6 (GW, UCF, Cuse,Pitt,DUKE,UNC)

That is a hard case to make either way without unit analyses and seniority maps. Almost 40% of your 4 star players are in the first year of the program, yet you weight them the same as 5th year seniors. And you weight an "athlete" the same as someone who came in the program with a recognized position.

You know who else relied heavily on star ratings? Bill Lewis. He chased stars and didn't care much about character, and I only remember him recruiting a single offensive lineman. He didn't have time to spend on the core players that made the team a team even if they only had 2 or 3 stars. You must have loved him.

Our defense could be really good the ndxt couple of years. Its the offense that has me worried, and ol recruiting is a big part of it.

The point is we have talent on the roster, it will be year two of the Collins Era....at some point Geoff will neednto coach the boys up and at some point it needs to quit being Paul Johnson's fault.. Georgia Tech has talent...No more excuses!

Who do we play without more than that?

The point is...at some point you have to remove your lips from Paul's johnson and realize we have a new coach. Either get on board, get off board or STFU. Come to think of it...just STFU regardless of which option you choose.

SMH. If you uttered this exact phrase to yourself before you typed it, then that's all I need to know.
If not obvious, he’s trying to set up an unrealistic standard for Collins to meet so that he can bitch and complain when it’s not met. There has been a lot of that going on from him and others who are butthurt that we did not hire another option guy.

I am on Board... Ready for the Coach to win games... I am of the opinion Georgia Tech should always win at least 6 games and go to a Bowl and the issue under George Oleary, Ghan Gailey and Paul Johnson was that we avg 7 wins and could not take the program to the next level year in and year out...

I think Geoff Collins gets that, I think year 2 should allow all Transfers to play, we have his first recruiting class coming in and we will be better... Anything less than 6 wins is not good!

You truly believe we should beat half the teams in the ACC with three transfers and 23 18-year olds?

You have a remarkably low opinion of the ACC.

Yeah, I was thinking how closely, outside the coaching change, we compared to NC State and we see how they did this year and that is with an established coach, culture, system. This was not a "good" roster even by Johnson's standards or teams. I know it is impossible to make some posters believe it but I think even Johnson only wins 3-5 games this year. Games would have been closer and we would have looked better in the stats but wins would have been hard to come by. I can't believe he loses to Citadel or State but other than that, I'm not sure where the wins are.

The ACC only has 2 ranked teams this week, Clemson and Virginia. Virginia is ranked below Appalachian State and Cincinnati. Everybody has a remarkably low opinion of the ACC.

The OP was a good contribution to the general discussion about next year. Who do we have and who will we have? Obviously we need to see how this recruiting class comes together and whether it finishes strongly or we lose people. Thanks for doing this leg work.

What does the top 25 have to do with anything? You think we can beat #26 with 3 transfers and 23 freshmen?
