Well since this post aged well, how will the Tiggers do against LSU? Since OU didn’t cover anyone the entire game.
I want it to be a fun, close, Clemson win. I don't think that will happen. They were my pick to win the CFP, but I don't think anybody can beat the LSU team we saw yesterday. What Burrow accomplished makes no sense and I'm angry about it and I really have no idea why. We're all picking on Oklahoma and treating them like a cupcake because LSU made them look like one. But the late Sooners were a good football team, and an improved squad from last year. LSU made them look like a cupcake because, I think, they are in a class of their own this season, and the gap between them and anyone else is really as wide as the point differential of the Peach Bowl.
Clemson is plainly a better team than Oklahoma, and I think they're better than Ohio State by a wider margin than last night's game would indicate. Clemson isn't going to have to play a perfect game to be in it, but if LSU starts with ferocity anything like what they displayed yesterday, and/or if Clemson starts as slowly as they did last night, it could get out of hand and over with quickly. The Tigers abilities to fight back in the second half will count for nothing if they're under the kind of deficit LSU put on OU. Lawrence and Etienne are going to need to shine bright, hot, and all night long. It is difficult to imagine that happening against those homicidal maniacs in the yellow helmets.
That's a lot of fluff to say: this is
Football as art vs
Football as an excuse to eat faces. I prefer art, but the face eaters made me piss my pants yesterday afternoon.
