I thought the same thing. That ESPN cover edit is ridiculously good. Mentions other westlake prospects. Genius.
No UGA offer, thus three star. How does a recruit with that size, height, and long list of P5 offers, end up a 3 star?

Yeah, I thought maybe something like that. Great offer sheet; but no Bama, UGA, Ohio State, Clemson, type offers. Still to me he looks like a minimum low 4* that the traditional elite offers would push to high 4 or 5 star.
What about him makes you think minimum low 4*? And possible 5*?!
Based on his film I think they have it about right at mid 3*. Doesn’t mean Key can’t mold him with that size, but I wasn’t all that impressed with his film tbh.

6'6", 310lb. And that offer list. Hoo boy.
Plus all of the camps are canceled. There is not going to be much if any movement and I would bet that we are on some guys who would have moved significantly through camps and season. We have proven we have a better early evaluation game than the factories and our problem is that guys we identify get attention late from the factories and some bail. Maybe this could all be blessing in disguise for us.Short answer is there are not a lot of 4* guys period.
There are a boatload of 3*, and at 5.6 on Rivals he is a solid 3 star. 62nd player in Georgia, so he is a darn good prospect.
Stars can also be thought of as how ready a kid is projected to be a contibuter. IMO this kid is a great prospect and needs development. High ceiling.
OL are the hardest to evaluate by HS film. Huge margin of error on OL. So many 3 star superstars and 4 star busts.
I agree, but at least now when a player “hits” he will have the size to match up. I’m tired of always being Rudy and having to hope for perfect execution. It’s beautiful when it happened (Miss. State game) but you can’t rely on it. I’m looking forward to the day when we can just line up for 3rd and 3 and make a simple hand off to get the first down. I’m also looking forward to a time when our QB isn’t the shortest or skinniest guy on the field. I want a guy who can push the pile and deliver a hit when needed. Collins is getting us there step by step.
