No one is whining that it’s not going to be top 15. We’re pointing out that with all the recruiting “masters” we hired this class is going to finish in the 40s and bottom half of the ACC. Very Paul Johnsonish.
Last night I drank a couple of 40s and finished your mom’s bottom half.

Unc is definitely running a strong bag man game. There’s no way that Mac Brown’s return alone generates that kind of turnaround.
It’s ridiculous. I realize we are filling our needs right now with huge linemen so we won’t have as many 4 stars, but I never imagined they’d be putting this type of class together.

It's almost like they institutionalize cheating and Mack ran a lot of bagmen before he ditched UNC the first time.

So if I’m understanding y’all correctly - we should be happy with a mid/high 30s class this year because Bill Belichick is a proven talent evaluator?
No, we should be happy that we got commitments from a freaking 6-6 325lb monster of a defensive tackle (how many years have we been upset that we don’t have a legitimate DT), a 6-6 302 OT, a 6-5 291 OG, a 6-7 225 TE, a four star WR, and the 24th ranked QB in the country. I’ll take those measurables over star rankings any day.

The difference between 25th and 35th could be class size or a single blue chip. I am happy so far because we are filling positions of need with guys who are high on our board. We had quite a few early commits last year who started in that low 3 star, few to no P5 offers range. Of our lower rated guys this year, one is a giant DT and one is a punter. Chappel is the only one I dunno about.

I do think we have evidence of good talent evaluation. Gibbs went from a mid 3 to almost a 5 star. Avery Boyd was unrated when we took him. Wing Green and Kennard also got bumps.

Too early to say where we end up, anyways.
I’ve watched film personally with a decent portion of our staff, including some under the radar analysts.

We have great to outstanding talent evaluators.

Size is a key point. Even our diamonds in the rough are giants, as opposed to the undersized guys we have had.

UNCheat has 11 four star recruits rn. Damn son.
Favorite to land Grimes out of VA too. Composite top 10 recruit. Some analysts’ pick for #1 overall in the class. On the one hand holy hell their first string is going to rival Clemson in a few years. On the other hand lol at how far VT recruiting has fallen - not even in the discussion for an elite DB in their backyard. 10 years ago he wouldn’t been committed to them for a year already.
