Is 6-16 acceptable?

Moreso than the 6-16 records are the things that continue to be a problem that should have showed more improvement by now:
  • Penalties
  • RZ execution
  • Defense (especially secondary)
If we can beef up the talent along the lines and fix these issues we can be a pretty good team.

You expect him to close the gap with Clemson and Georgia in his third year ? Good lord we have some morons as fans.
For me, it's the fact that Collins has yet to recruit a single McDonald's All-American. That, and the fact that outside of practice, he does fun things with the team when he should be beating them mercilessly. Defense wins championships, and nothing builds defense like a humorless and violent sociopath. You think recruits want to play kickball? In 2020? Of course not, they want to be kicked in the balls. Kicked in the face. They want to live in fear. They long to be hospitalized for weeks after a brutal physical assault in retribution for not playing the way I want, when I want it.

Next year will make or break him. No 6-16 is not acceptable. On another note, this recruiting class he is bring in this year is not closing the gap with Clemson or Georgia. Got to do better.
Are you seriously trying to say Collins isn’t recruiting well enough?!?

Yes, 6-16 is acceptable.

These decade-old chickens were coming home to roost no matter what.

Well I think the point he is trying to make is there hasn't been a lot of improvement between year 1 and year 2 of recruiting, at least judging by the recruiting sites. We are actually lower rated for the 2021 class vs. 2020. Granted, he have scored some nice transfers.

This mostly.

I am growing very tired of the excuses about the OL, next year it is time for those excuses to end. Related to that, the series with Yates was short; but Yates gets the ball out what seems like twice as fast as our starter.

DL - looks like help is on the way. I have positive feelings about the future of the defense. I think the secondary will seem better when the defensive front is more established.

Finally, for 2 years in a row now the offense seems to play significantly better in the second half of the season. It seems like the OC needs 3-5 games to figure out what he's got, what works, and what he should have been doing the month before. I hope that is a product of the rebuilding and doesn't continue.

This team just completed a slate of 3 games in 13 days -after no games for 4 weeks.

Despite this, not having your best RB, WR, missing a few DL, playing poorly at times, stupid penalties, horrible officiating, Tech could have won all 3 of these games.

I know there are those who disagree, but after this 3 game stretch I am now more encouraged that we are going to be a good football team than I was a month ago.

Fair point.
