Tucker Gleason Leaving

Curry isn't devoid of talent and probably knows the plays and calls extremely well. He just misses making the big play at times, but he was rarely out of position from an alignment/scheme perspective.

You can't have guys out there who don't know the plays. Goes for offense and defense.

My take is that Tuck didn't know the plays, didn't know the protections, couldn't read a defense--things like that in comparison to Yates. The alternative is off the field issues that nobody knows about.

I think it's a huge testament to Yates that he's the 2nd guy up. We need someone willing to put it all on the line to push Simsarticularly in the non-throwing aspects of the game.
Sims int total is way too high for the excuse to be about reading defenses. It basically came down to who can escape the pocket the best and still throw on the run

I prefer someone who’ll be playing next year
If you are crazy committed to throwing in young players into the deep end of the pool, which happened more than we wanted to do this year, be comforted that an experienced mike helps put everyone where they need to be, and helped with the development of all the super young players around him. So the benefit of his experience without question outweighed the trial by fire of a single linebacker

D looked lost all year to me, including curry. Dunno what you’re talking about

Throw enough young players rotating through, that is what happens. Glad Curry was there as a rock. We had some good games on D with true freshmen and inexperienced players all over the place

We're in big trouble if Sims goes down though. Yates was recruited to run the option.

We got Peery coming in. We will be fine. Absolutely have to pick up a QB in 2022 or a transfer.

“C-Fr” makes no sense. If he red shirts next year, will be be a “C-R-Fr” in 2022?

So will Sims' interceptions be just freshman mistakes next season or will they still be blamed on OL play?
Depends if the OL is at least serviceable next season. Would be nice for Sims to be able to step up into a pocket and the receivers to have time to run routes. Otherwise every QB we put behind them is going to throw incompletions, throw picks, get sacked, and fumble.

PFF has told the same tale of the OL for two years now (read: even before Sims). In its end of 2019 rankings the unit was dead last out of 130 teams, and moved up to 123 out of 127 teams as of a couple weeks ago.

If we can have a semi-normal Spring and Summer, I expect Coach Key will have a solid offensive line in place for next season.

Cutcliffe may have someone else
It better be a signer or a transfer
Watching Dook the last couple weeks without Brice at times .., it’s hard to believe they could get worse but they pulled it off
