Inofficial CFP Thread

Fowler going full blow job on Lawrence now..
I don't understand how those guys, like him and Herbstreit, who used to be perfectly likeable and enjoyable, have become such unbearable reptiles. I've been listening to these rednecks on Clemson's radio broadcast all night because I can't stand to hear those company men talk and talk for hours and still fail to say a single goddamn thing.

I think it's weird you can have possession in the endzone but not for long enough to be a TD but you can also swipe the ball in the air over the line for a millisecond and never get in the endzone and that is a TD. Seems like those don't match.

Waiting for The Jacket to come along any time now and tell us what a bang up genius coaching job his hero Dabo did tonight. :popcorn2:

You are exactly right 1982. Other than 2 NCS, 2 runner-ups and 2 more playoff appearances, Dabo has done nothing at Clemson. Good post.
Yeah at the end of the day he's the only one to take down the mighty Saban twice in a championship game for it all. I'm glad Dabo lost tonight but he's done some things that no one else has done period.

The Calvin Johnson rule

As I have been saying since 2008, Dabo is and always has been a clown. He's also a phenomenon, like something out of a movie, to which I don't know of any analogs. From damn near a nobody, a flesh and blood mascot who got an interim job, held onto it and turned the program into an absolute juggernaut and repeatedly took on and defeated the sport's evil empire in Alabama. He's got a long career ahead of him still at Clemson, I'm sure, and he is already easily a legend of the sport.

I cannot wait until we start beating his ass again. Honk, honk.

I am honestly very impressed with two Meyer acolytes today. The job that Fickell did at Cincy is stupendous. Day keeping the championship feeling alive after Meyer left OSU is just as impressive.

You need to establish that possession. If you are catching the ball in the end zone, it’s still a process to establish possession (with all the rule changes over the years I’m not sure what establishing possession implies anymore).
But breaking the plane of the end zone is sufficient for a TD because presumably you had already established possession before you broke the plane of the end zone.

I was so glad to see Clemson get humiliated tonight. The beginning of their decline has begun.

I don’t think I’d go that far. Clemson’s OL and DL were pretty young this year.

Yes. Let’s hope that the media piles onto the narratives of 1) Clemson is done, and 2) KKKirby runs a racist program that has no room for a black QB like Fields and started a frat star over him despite ability. It’s why Jaime Newman left and also why Mathis never got a fair shot over Stetson Bennett.

those two narratives would be glorious.

Well they recruited about 10 guys this year who would be at or in the top 10 of our all time recruits so it will be awhile before they decline to our level. Maybe we can dickride NC beating them

I can't honestly say I know anything about Reddish, and I did not hate Trae. But I felt like Donc was an obvious superstar and the most Hawks thing in the world was to pass on that in favor of hopefully piecing something together later.
I also wanted Doncic but we are where we are and this team is pretty good - Hunter and Reddish are growing up and along with Young. Collins and Huerter plus some seasoned veterans behind them to push them - make a good formula. The Hawks managment despite not getting Donc have put together a pretty good team and made some good draft choices. Young, Hunter, Reddish, Huerter and Collins were all good picks.
