We also had a missed field goal and a dropped pick six though. I don’t think we had the horses to win that game either way but it could have easily been a tie game at the half.
It was the worst beat down in the 114 year history of the series.

I'm sure you would have been happier if we had started running out the clock starting with our first offensive snap. Cuz that is in effect what you are saying.

Me? I see a deeper, more talented team for 2021 than we have had in quite some time, and it is only getting better. So I don't dwell in the dark days. It would be stupid to do so.

I would have absolutely liked to have seen us run some clock rather than that 3 and out offense we were using. Running some clock would have required making first downs. We had 13 punts and only 7 first downs in that entire game. We not only had some talent deficiencies, we got completely out coached. 139 total yards of offense.

But whatever you need to pin a rose on that turd I guess....

This roster is a winning roster. Should have above average OL, superb RBs, above average QB with high ceiling, and enough weapons at WR for our offense to have the edge against most of the defenses we will face. It appears that the DL will be much improved as well especially the pass rush.

If our team executes and avoids self inflicted wounds/penalties, we SHOULD win at least seven. I think this roster can beat NIU, KSU, Pitt, Duke, UVA, BC. UNC/VT/Miami should be close games that we can win. Notre Dame, Clemson, uga are stretches.

FWIW - I think Athens is in for a rude awakening. They haven’t seen us since 2019, and we played them very close in the first half that year until the depth disparity took over. The talent gap is the smallest it’s been in a long time and should continue to shrink.
It doesn't matter how many good players Tech has on its roster. It doesn't matter if Tech recruits 25 **** four star players every year. You can't win without good coaching. Tech does not have good coaching, therefore Tech will not win. Gooff Collins is a recruiting coordinator at best. He is a recruiter acting as head coach, and it won't work.
Gooff Collins is a joke. 3-9. :deadhorse:

Running clock? öööö that öööö. Trial by fire. I've seen the get beaten by UGAg, but we try to make it not look so bad by doing nothing but dive plays and running as much clock as possible. Yea, the score was bad, but it wasn't any less of a beat down than we had been getting.

We will see. You sound like you miss the old days of Bobby Dodd and want to get back to 1950's style football. It ain't gonna happen

You guys are crazy as bed bugs. It was THE WORST BEAT DOWN IN THE SERIES. Period. It was more of a beat down than any other coach or team from either side in the 114 game history of the series. The only reason we even scored was UGA fumbled a punt. This whole discussion about running clock is moot because the team wasn't good enough to run clock. It wasn't like running clock was an option that was decided against, it would have taken more competency than we had to 'run clock'.

Unlike that high IQ, X's and O's genius that they have a couple hours up I-85. That's what we need. A real Kenneth Parcell type.

The 2018 team was losing 38-7 at the half and our only TD was a kickoff return. If UGA wanted to, they could've scored 80 points on us that day. On offense we had a hard time not going backwards....literally. That game was the worse beat down by Georgia, they just called off the dogs in the 2nd half.

They have had a few of those over the years. Dooley's teams used to sometimes empty the bench during the blowouts.

Folks need to not have such thin skin and realize we have to build the program. Don't forget WV put 73 on Dabo's Clemson Tigers

Uga had 1 big quarter (2nd) that game. They had starters in the whole way. 2019 was a far worse loss.

Doesn’t matter though, Collins is in year 3. He absolutely should be back to the level where CPJ left off. That isn’t a high bar since 2017 and 2018 were bad teams by Tech standards. If the O still looks average and predictable, we’ll get a coordinator change this year or next. The OL and DL now have system compatible players. We shouldn’t look like marathoners running sprints anymore.

It was 45-7 in the third in 2018. Don't know how that is any better of a loss. We scored a junk TD with 6 or 7 minutes left in the game and another TD with about 30 seconds left for those final 14 points. By then, UGAg, their fans, TV, and almost everyone on their side had either left or changed channels

They absolutely could have scored two or three more TD's in 2018 had they so desired.

I’m tired of talking about which U[sic]GA ass-beating was worse.

Do we know what the attendance for the spring game was? It looked OK in the stands and felt more or less normal to me, because people tend to spread out in lower west for the spring game anyway.

It was a bit of a bummer that it wasn’t more of a party - I liked when we’d have a bunch of old players show up and get interviewed during breaks and stuff.

TV time outs during the spring game was kinda weird. How did it look on TV?

Still we scored 21 points. They called off the dogs in 2019 too, it just didn't help so it was hard to tell. The 2019 beat down was the worst beat down by Georgia. Doesn't matter how much you want to spin it. Guess what the worst beat down by Clemson was.
