Any chance you would read the last 10-20 posts?
I keep up with this thread but see no reference to anything that sheds light on my question. Only how good he is and where he stacks up relative to MJ.

Arch says he is high on our list, which should mean we have a shot...

I read that (as well as a zillion posts on ToS) but most of the guys "high on our list" have an offer from us so its a bit of a headscratcher. I'd take AJ over MJ in a nanosecond.

This free rivals article says we are trying hard to flip Swann. If he doesn't show an offer from us on the sites, it could be that he quit tweeting out his offers after he committed. Some guys are more behind the scenes.

Now, what this article doesn't say is how receptive he is or isn't. But you'd think we would have a shot with a local kid over Maryland.

Not super relevant but Wilson will be a giant bust.
No, its not. What is relevant is he turned into a great college quarterback, not a good one, and his draft status recognized this.

Techbert,
not agreeing with you about Wilson's future but that is a tangent we don't need

I don’t think he was a great college QB. Look at the schedule he amassed his numbers against in 2020. Then look at his 2019 numbers against a vastly superior schedule.

Quarterbacks don't improve with experience?

Do you deny he outplayed his 247 rating?

Zach Wilson was a three star and went #2 in the draft and the future of the NYJ. Do you think he is sort of interchangable? Would you have been disappointed if we signed him instead of Cammon Cooper a 4 star quarterback from his same class?
You are picking after the fact. There will be 100 3 star QBs this year (or some such large number). Tell us which one will go second in the draft or if you prefer you can point to a 4 year old post saying Zac Wilson would.

I could probably do some research and find a TV tape of somebody playing hold 'em and beating a pair of aces with an offsuit 3-6*. Next hand which do you want to start with?

*wider difference than the QBs discussed to illustrate the point.

Burrow was a 3 star, too. But ya'll are missing the point. Swann is borderline 4-star already, and an elite 11 invite will put him over the top next update. Morris' stock is heading the other way (though I still think he is good and would be happy if he committed here)

Remember my burden of proof, and remember the burden of proof for those denigrating three star quarterbacks. I can find plenty of players who outplay their rankings like Zach and Trey Lance and plenty who match their lofty status like Trevor Lawrence and plenty that do little for the team that signs them like Fields and Daniels and plenty that do not play up to their precollege rankings.

Those that diss three star quarterbacks have to deny that any good comes from a three star quarterback.

You ask me to tell you who will outplay their ranking? I don't need to. We pay coaches to find quality and see the future within the needs of the team.

But as some are trying to say the rankings are in flux right now to capture changing information, and those not open to new data will yell Morris Morris Morris until he is three star by some non-coach for-profit companies and then they will suddenly not want him. And that should tell you all you need to know about how artificial star-chasing is.

Morris already dropped to 3 stars on 247

We breathed life into this thread a little bit so it is all good.

We must have a coach who can do more than play the good hands that come to him.

I wasn't dissing him, just saying the trick is to know which 3 star is going to overperform. If he is trending to be a 4 star and becomes one that is different.
