Chip Long - New OC

My grandma would have been better than Patenaude so the hire is fine. They’ll all be gone in a year so it doesn’t matter much. We are now on the clock to find the next staff a year from now. We gotta get the next one right.

this is the dude who was an analist at Tenn b4 tulane.
isn't he supposedly bringing a UT QB transfer with him?

On the one hand, the people who know the coach better are more likely to have an accurate assessment, on the other hand, the people who have more irrational dislike of someone are proportionally likely to express their pleasure at a departure.

For player transfers I'd almost expect the effect to have negative significance, because we always tend to downplay transfers out, "didn't need him, didn't fit the system, etc". I wonder if any of that is typical of coach hires.
Most importantly rational people who actually know are more likely to not post on Twitter or Message boards.

What a career. Memphis under Norvell, ND under Kelly, recruiting coordinator at ASU.

He's certainly been around enough to know how to do it.
Coached ND against Clemson in the CFP's. ND buddy of mine said when he was fired at ND it was out of the blue and unexpected by the fan base.

There is a chance he didn't know what the talent was like at Tulane when he took the job or he knew and needed a paycheck.

Maybe he knew he wasn't going to be the starter there, wants a better degree close to home and a chance to compete for the starting job.
We aren't in the business of welfare college degrees, we will give guys a chance to graduate in exchange for them being excellent CFB Players.

Tired of seeing guys fail elsewhere, then slink back to GT in search of a subsidized education while they do little to nothing for our FB Program.

This is a business people, we pay for educations in exchange for excellent on-field results, GT doesn't exist for wayward FB failures to come back to GT and get a debt free college degree.

Damn dude there is absolutely nothing in this situation to justify your harshness towards this player right now. Chill out. It's getting ridiculous.

If anyone slinks back to GT for a degree and they do little to nothing for our FB Program, that 's not on them, that is on our HC.
