Is Dabo gone too??

and if your definition of correct pronunciation is "how it's pronounced locally" then you got it right.
I didn't learn to hear the p until about age 50.down here - most say it but can't hear it.
for me now, the p comes after a few beers (pun intended)

I hadn’t heard of the school until I got to Tech. I was honestly surprised when I saw how it was spelled without a p).

Why would he leave? 2nd best coach in college football over the last 10 years.

FWIW, Dabo is pretty down on the state of college football and its immediate future. He has gone on the record against the transfer portal and NIL, said if we start paying players he's out. So maybe he meant that? Perhaps he views college football as becoming the independent semi-pro minor league for the NFL, and if that's the case might as well go to the NFL if he gets the opportunity. Pure speculation, maybe that's why Venables left, or maybe Venables leaving gives Dabo reason to consider moving on. If he has an offer on the table from the Raiders and thinks the peak at Clemson has already been reached, why not move on?

Maybe I'm the only guy who thinks he seems like a jerk?
He's a hyper competitive SOB, of course. But he made it from nothing to the pinnacle, on his own, earned it....He's got a little Ted Lasso in him wrt how he interacts with players.

And just think, we used to beat them with regularity.
All those 5-star players did not suddenly decide to go to a cow college in the middle of Nowhere, South Carolina because Dabo Swinner is a swell guy and Clemson has inside connections with NFL GMs who decide which college players to draft. They are a bunch of cheaters who bought a couple of National Championships and multiple finalist positions to win NCs. Now whether the NCAA actually cares and does anything or not, is anyones guess.

Proof?

DRad - Gone
Venables - Gone
Elliott - Gone

Again, given the opportunity, why WOULDN'T Dabo be gone, too?

Dabo has one of the best college football coaching situations in the country. If you don't believe it, ask the people whose job it is to know - the folks who are hired by universities to find their next head coach. When you're successful, people want to hire your staff. It's a mark of success. Get used to it (Saban has!). When you look at Clemson, and denigrate it, how different is it from UGA/Athens? We have to figure out how to compete with both schools. The only Tech coach who's even been in the conversation post O'Leary is CPJ.

Clempsun is different than UGAg in that they have won multiple natties in the past 40 years (3, in fact).

I always find it a bit rich (pun intended) that a college coach making millions and millions decries the “amateurism” that left the sport long ago.

He’d be another in a long line of successful college coaches that leave a place that is easy to win a lot of games at for the parity of the NFL and fail. He won’t last long there if he goes.
