Heard on 750AM this morning that GT pulled the offer to Aycock.

Do you think Auburn would have wasted their time if they had not gotten some signal that the Tech deal was crumbling? I wouldn't put it past Mr. Roof to be orchestrating this. He had some of the same kind of tactics against us when he was at Duke, did he not. The whole process sucks. We'll be okay. This is a real loss of a good and possibly great player, but if the fit wasn't right, better to know now.

Dwight Smith set all of this up with Auburn himself...he called Auburn. Ted Roof does not even recruit Florida...he has Georgia.

Ted Roof has always been good recruiting against his alma mater...as has Glenn Spencer. First class.

However, Geoff Collins and Lance Thompson have not always been kind when recruiting against us.

He'll probably explain it away in his head as the coach being too much of an old school hardass. Keeping one's word isn't all that important nowadays anyway.

that wasn't the point....of course everyone recruits against each other.

We were discussing negative recruiting. Spence and Roof do not do that....Lance Thompson and Geoff Collins do.

Unless I am being told untruths...our staff generally focuses on what GT can do with no attempt to degrade other schools...even though some are easy to degrade.

It is starting to look more and more like this was more the brothers doing than the players. As far as Aycock is concerned, it all depends on what words were exchanged between him and Tech staff. As far as his brother is concerned, I can't really agree with him convincing him to look elsewhere because the brother (apparently not Aycock himself) thought Aycock would have a better chance getting in to the NFL at Auburn.

Ridiculous. You can get to the NFL from anywhere. But how many schools do a good job of preparing you for when the NFL is no longer an option?

No one was ever denied their shot at the NFL simply because they went to Georgia Tech. Besides, we have beaten Auburn the last two times we have played them.
