So Ball was accurate and level-headed and a good decision-maker?

Reggie's problem, first and foremost, was he had no idea where to throw the ball.
His second problem was he was wretchedly inaccurate.
His third was he cracked under pressure.
Other than those 3 things he was a pretty good QB. ;)

I like 5'10" QB's from SC that can run and throw!
I tried unsuccessfully to find video of the previous David Sims at GT. Can anyone dig something up?
I had forgotten that his brief NFL career with the Seahawks was pretty good (leading the NFL in TDs) before an injury took him down.
You forgot that he couldn't count to 4...

How do you know? He was following Nix's instructions. I still have a mental image of Nix on the sidelines frantically motioning for Ball to spike the ball.
Just one more bad rap that Reggie gets for being the QB for a staff of idiots. He wasn't the one getting paid six figures or more.
I might be unnecessarily stirring the pot here, I don't like to see all the Ball bashing because in all fairness to Ball, it wasn't his fault that he was the best man for the job. I remember watching Taylor Bennett after Ball left and hoping for Reggie to come back.
Fact is Ball was not a good QB, but he was a fierce competitor and just trying to do the job we asked of him. If we are finding someone to blame, its by far GT's (aka the coach's) fault for not having anyone better than him to put out there.
With our current supply of QB's, I don't think we'll have a similar issue.

No, but the ACC officials forgot to change the down marker until after Reggie got his play, and the Sanford Stadium guys didn't switch it to say fourth down until after the ball was snapped. Not a fan of the bashing either, but did Nix instruct him to throw it out of bounds on the following 4th down as well?

Not saying he shouldn't have been able to count to four, but he had two very important context clues that told him it was "3" before he threw the ball away.
Gailey near blew a fuse when he called for a spike on 3rd down.
If I recall correctly, it wasn't a spike on 3rd down, it was a spike on first down, when it didn't matter anyway - we had plenty of time and the clock was stopped to move the chains.
I could be wrong though.
I do remember screen caps of the look on Gailey's face, like WHAT?!?!
