Post your most memorable GT plays

Gary Lee to beat the mutts in 1985. Drew Hill racing down the southwest sideline, and getting thrown under the fence by Ross Browner, to beat the Domers in 1976. Bubba Hoats' last minute INT in the EZ to preserve a 6-0 V over UGAG in 1969. CJ's catch at DV in 2004 to beat Clemson. Dez White's last minute catch and run to beat UVA in 1998.
In the student section 1969 Georgia win. Passed out in my dad's car at a gas station at Roswell Road and 285. Perdoni left it all on the field that day.

Dennis Davis INT in 2005 Vs #3 Miami.

Under 2 minutes to go, we're up 4, but Miami has the ball and looks like they're about to score and take the lead. Kyle Wright tries going deep to Greg Olsen, but Dennis Davis reads it and beats Olsen to the ball. Miami is still trying to recover from that loss.
You are correct--that eliminated whatever was left of the "swagger" in Coral Gables.

Roddy Jones against UGA long touchdown down the sideline when it looked like we were really stalling.

(sorry this is my first year following GT so I don't have that many)

Don't apologize---that's a DAMN good one! In fact, one of my all time favorites. THWG!:laugher::laugher::laugher:

Was that the start of our winning streak against them?

Likewise, but I gotta say my most memorable play was the endzone fumble of FSU. Will take a loong while to forget the atmosphere of that victory.

both the UGA and F$U game atmospheres put up high marks on the kick ass scale.

It still blows me away that two of the best moments in Tech history happened this past season. And I was there for both. :)

Didn't see it listed, but around '98 or so, while Ralph was still our OC, we were lined up in standard I formation against NC State here at home.

The slot receiver went into motion. But he wasn't trotting like usual; he was running down the line of scrimmage. Joe takes the snap and barely turns to hand the ball off as the motion man runs behind him. No one else on the offense moves. The center didn't move except to snap. Joe didn't even come out from under center. It looked like he was audibling to the FB.

The receiver was at least 5 yards down the field before anyone on NC State reacted. It was a 30 yard TD run (or so). To see that play in person was beautiful. It completely shocked the entire stadium.

Seven years of misery (more than 2500 days!) ended with Roddy's 54 yard run on a misty day in Athens. All I could think was "The Streak is OVER!!!". That makes it my most memorable play.

Gary Lee 1985, enough said!

Do you remember what set the win up - the goalline stand at the end of the 1st half? The nadlickers even got an extra down from the 1(at most) yardline and the D stacked'em up again. QB sneak never got close. Right in front of me, north endzone. There was a UGag guy with his date right behind me and they went from ear drum bursting loud to stone cold silent.

That....sounds....awesome.....:wow:

Still can't believe the current HC of Maryland was our former offensive coordinator.

We tried it later in the year against UVa. But they were ready for it and blew the play up by pushing the right tackle back off the line, blocking the receivers path.

Makes sense, when a trick play completely takes a defense by surprise and goes for a TD, it will take a few years for teams to stop keeping it in mind before they face you. Just look at Boise St last winter. Tried the same hook & ladder play against TCU and they were ready for it.

It was great, it was also the game where Joe set the ACC record for career TD passes. He was competing against NCST's QB for that honor.

In mid-70's Jimmy Robinson made a great late game catch in the North end zone on a 2-point pass to beat UNC by 1. It was a great game, maybe 29-28 or 28-27, if I remember.

Best kick - Sisson's FG in Charlottesville in '90.

The sound in '85 when we recovered the fumble in the 4th to wrap it up was unlike anything I've experienced in 35+ years at HBDS. I'll never forget Swilling covering his ear holes due to the noise.

I'm bored so this may be a double post. I'm thinking "can't be posted enough" like I say I'm bored.

Dennis Scott's draining the 3 against Carolina and that asshole Dean Smith was damn near close to Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson on my all time "you were there" TV watching experiences.

I almost peed myself. Calling peeple. Totally FREAKED OUT. I'm just glad, a hundred years later, I've put that baby to bed.

Ah, those were the days my friend.

That game is on my rat cap. It was 29-28, 1974, and it was an incredible catch laid out in the EZ.
