whos losing a starting position?

Butler is 6'1" Reid is only 5'10"

Now, if you are saying he plays short, then I agree :p
Butler may be 6'1", but he plays like he's 5'9".

And I'm calling shenanigans on 6'1", btw. He's not an inch over 5'11".

If that's the case, then Reid must be REALLY short because those are their numbers listed on RR.com. Even still, 5'11" isn't short for even an NFL corner.

But like I said, I agree that he plays short. Reid plays like he thinks he's a giant.

That reminds me of a season preview I saw back in the 70's when I was following the Southwest Conference. Somebody wrote that Rice had 18 starters back, but then he added, "Well, they're Rice starters."

:laugher:

Yeah of the ones in that area who will lose a starting job, I don't think it would be Taylor or Reid, cause they played pretty darn solid for true freshmen and they get a full spring practice this time around.

Taylor lost his starting job when Reese got healthy again. I like Coop, but Reese is our starting FS.
Reid had the crucial pick in the BC game, the fumble recovery, and a nice pick against UM where he jumped the route.
Butler impressed me in the FSU game, but he needs to show more.

I REALLY like the battle we have going on at LB this spring and fall...

Barnes vs. Sylvester
Jefferson vs. Jackson
Griffin vs. Jackson/Munroe

I think it ends up Jackson, Jefferson, and Griffin, again. I think they pull it together this year. Griffin is going to tear it up!

Rashad reid or Mario butler. Assuming JT is good as before he will start. IMO I like reid. It may just be because of the FSU game. But who ya got?

it doesn't matter, we played nickel 65% of the snaps last year...that means 3 CBs

I think the better battle is between Taylor, Reese and any RS Frs at S

Butler has to improve the most. He was picked on....a lot. Especially in the Georgia game. That was a horrid performance.

I wonder how much weight Coop can put on. I like his instincts.

Reese will start opposite of Burnett.

Coop will still get plenty of PT.

33, what do you think about using Reese as the NB with Coop playing FS compared to using the 3rd CB? What's your take on what might be best?

Depends on the situation (down, distance, offensive personnell, etc.). But, I like that idea in many situations.

I've stood next to Butler. He's definitely a legit 6'1". He seemed built like a safety more than a corner to me.

For some reason I was picturing Laurence Marius in my head. D'oh. You're right, Butler is taller.

He still plays like a 5'9 corner, but whatever. :)

Jemea Thomas and Rod Sweeting may play in the DB as True Freshmen.

But I believe Tarrant will be a starter at CB.
