One thing from today

Yeah. We played hard every game only really had one head scratching loss under Key and that was Miami. Wouldn’t mind seeing him have an off-season and full season to try to settle the ship. I don’t think his floor is low. His teams will play hard and smart.

We didn't get out coached and out schemed. A select few players didn't make simple plays that would have turned the game completely.

Key and his staff had a very sound game plan.
I don’t know about the out coached part - we looked rough on special teams and offense.

we didn’t lose on effort though - and that’s a tribute to Key and his staff for sure.

It'll be more than a full session though. If we hire him we aren't committing to a one off and see what happens we're committing to multiple years. Not smart but the players played hard for Collins too the first few years; keeping them invested despite losses for a bit was maybe his one good feature.

Long called a good game. Bad TE drops and QB getting a little scared and missing some open guys. And a couple of borderline catches on the sidelines that didn't go our way.

Punt team was still bad. Punter is bad and lack of depth means coverage team is slow.

We look vastly different from a Collins team. Even a year 1 Collins team which inherited a team that was disciplined and hard nosed. Key inherited a soft and dumb team and turned them into the product we see today.

Not just slow, but the scheme on blocking still sucks. We keep everyone in before punt, so we don't get anyone down field. This leads to 15 yd returns every time. We make everything about punting look difficult. We have to figure this out because it costs us points and yards every game.

Wouldn’t a more obvious improvement to punt team have occurred if this IHC should be the guy?

No one should be fearful when their team punts. No one.

Really disagree here. Most of our third down plays were designed to be short of the sticks and relying on YAC, which isn't going to work against this defense. 3rd down play calling left plenty to be desired

It feels like if Long is convinced his player can’t make the necessary throws or plays he takes away that as a tool. He doesn’t seem to trust players to exceed his own low expectations of them.

The drops hurt, but I don’t think it would have made much of a difference.
I think the dropped passes made a big difference. The first one down the middle of the field would have been a huge play and the offense was having some success early in the game. The dropped pass deep in our territory in the second half led to the muffed punt and the wheels fell off. I think it could have been a two score game.

I thought it looked like a lot of them were checked down to short of the sticks bc of lack of time or not very good pocket presence.
