One thing from today

Not just slow, but the scheme on blocking still sucks. We keep everyone in before punt, so we don't get anyone down field. This leads to 15 yd returns every time. We make everything about punting look difficult. We have to figure this out because it costs us points and yards every game.
Punt team sucks at snapping, punting, protecting, covering, downing the ball, and tackling.

Yeah. We played hard every game only really had one head scratching loss under Key and that was Miami. Wouldn’t mind seeing him have an off-season and full season to try to settle the ship. I don’t think his floor is low. His teams will play hard and smart.
Miami & uva

Architorture is right. Our and any team’s ST performance is directly related to overall team talent.

Wouldn’t a more obvious improvement to punt team have occurred if this IHC should be the guy?

No one should be fearful when their team punts. No one.
Not necessarily. Key had to deal with what he inherited. Remember, we had 3 blocks in 3 games before Key took over. He did fix that. It’ll be different next year.

That pretty much covers it.

Shannahan is the worst punter in GT history

Just punt it out of bounds maybe?
I think we now know why Clown opted for the blocked punts. It's a lot easier to explain than breakdowns in coverage.

Yea. Haven’t understood why we keep hitting line drives down the middle. Hopefully we invest a ST coach next year.

I don’t know about the out coached part - we looked rough on special teams and offense.

we didn’t lose on effort though - and that’s a tribute to Key and his staff for sure.
The beautiful thing about effort is that we as fans can appreciate that despite what the outcome of the game is. Kudos to Key, his staff and the players that bought into it, and good riddance to those that didn't.

I think that was #2.If so-What is our 1st string LB doing on punt coverage?
IIRC it was Watson, not a starter.

In his defense, the ball did take a high hop which made things awkward, but it shouldn't have been as hard as he made it look.
