Signing Day Thread

At this point are we just waiting on Trashun Griffin, and that would round out our whole commit class at 22 players? And "Scoota" would be the cherry on top later today.
Griffin isn't signing until February, and it probably won't be to GT by then. We are waiting on Carrie and possibly one more later today.

I guess I'm just out of it. I look up and down that list and don't see a "reach" anywhere. Compared to the classes from 2010-2020, this class looks way better than any of them but that's only good enough for 45th and at the midpoint of the ACC? Am I missing something?

I love this recruiting class - every single player who signed has something to be excited about - seems its one of the better classes of the last 15 years.

I'm officially calling BS on 44 programs having a better class than this one.

I was gonna post the same thing. I haven’t been this excited about a class (including transfers) in a while, especially with our two QBs. I’m surprised it’s not rated higher.

EJ Lightsey, UGA LB.
That is a surprise.
I think his three finalists his senior year were Mutts, Gators and Cocks. I got to see him play a little bit. He played some offense too - RB in short yardage situations.

So when will we start getting Top 25 classes? Anyone concerned with where this class is landing in the rankings?
What I like most about this class is it is balanced. I agree that more stars equals better teams, but rankings don't solve for 1) lack of depth at positions and 2) areas of need. I think we get needed stability and some depth.

As others mentioned I have a lot more faith in this coaching staff's talent evaluation. Singleton and Mackenny were 3 stars last year that have had an immediate impact.

we're in the wrong conference

I think it is 45th for HS and 29th for transfer leading to a combined 36th.
your math is good but groups don't average out.The HS group is much larger than the transfer group
and weighting is probably done by individual player all meshed together.xfers could be bringing the average rating down,
(regardless of how they rank.)
(or at least not boosting the avg as much as for other teams)
Our HS group has been in the thirties all season so i suspect it is correct as posted.
The HS group scoring is well defined in the FAQ.
The overall scoring isn't described anywhere that i've seen.
They should tell us the player weighting and if there is a counting cut off like there is at 20 in the HS group.
I have read that xfer rating counts toward overall and HS rating toward the talent composite.
The HS group should get a measurable bump if we get the 4star RB.he'd be weighted at 1,2 or 3 in this class.
xfer group-no change.overall may change little.
to regularly get into the top 25 we'd need a blue chip ratio around 30%,, thats an area where we could improve.

From 24/7, looks like Trashun Griffin hasn't signed?

DL is one of the greatest needs so concerning

Edit: Someone addressed it above, nm
