I thought we usually have two bye weeks?? Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I thought we have in the recent past.

The fact that there is only one bye and it comes at the end of the season means we have 11 straight weeks of play. Sounds pretty rough to me.

The weeks get 1 bye week of Paul Johnson and the Jackets not the other way around. ;)

Everyone cross your fingers we don't lose Nesbitt one weekend... ever. How are the backup QB's looking, besides Jaybo?

I was just thinkin about the back to back Thurs night games... I wonder how many random people in the US will settle down in front of the TV and watch GT v Clem and then wonder wtf is going on when we are on again the very next Thurs.. has that ever happened before? One team having back to back thurs night games?

They'll think I hope GT doesn't blow their opponent out again before I even get to my second brewski!

We had two blow-out wins with Jaybo at the helm last year...Miss. St. and Duke. Josh only played 5 plays against Miss. St. and zero against Duke.
Josh is the better QB...but missing one weekend is not an automatic loss....unless it is against VaTech, UNC, and UGA...maybe.

Before playing us last year, Miami played VT the previous Thursday

It appears that the season is more compact due to the calendar. Labor Day last year was 9/1 and Thanksgiving 11/27, but this year Labor Day is 9/7 and Thanksgiving 11/26, so there is one less week during the traditional season.

I hope that took some research and was not just off the cuff.;)

Good stuff from my fellow Douglasvillian, PerfectOption, in this thread!

Cheers!

Have to be honest, that wasn't what I was thinking of...
If I was 5 years older it might of fit more.

You are correct, sir! And. . . . Jaybo is now better than he was against Duke and Miss State, and he would be surrounded by a better supporting cast. There are very few programs around that can boast we won two games using the back-up qb---and we actually won 3 games without Josh if you count Gardner-Webb. I wouldn't want to have Josh go down, but if he does we'll handle it. With 11 straight games without a break, it may be necessary to sit Nesbitt for part or all of a game or two to keep him fit and to get Jaybo (or Tevin) some reps. How much different is this than having Reggie or Taylor and NOTHING ELSE?
