It Was Spurrier!

I would love for Spurrier to come out and say that Tebow is just a "system" QB.
Wouldn't Spurrier say something more along the lines of "You can't spell worthless system quarterback without T-E-B-O-W"? I'm disappointed that he didn't have a good response for this one.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

The thing is Spurrier also has a vote in the coach's poll, that thing that plays a huge part in deciding who gets to play for the MNC. Past personal pettiness, there's absolutely no reason not to vote for Tebow, and it's disturbing that human emotions decide so much for college football.

Well then don't let coaches vote. Damn people, Tebow won 11 to 1. So one person doesn't agree or whatever. BFD. What's Tebow going to do? Try really, REALLY hard to beat USC.

Yeah, that's kind of my point, at least with regard to picking the teams playing for the MNC. What if Spurrier is the deciding vote keeping Florida out of the championship game? Can we say he acted impartially? We need a playoff instead of relying on human judgement.

I spent a great deal of time at UF when I was in school, and if Tim Tebow is still a virgin down there, then he's not human.

Wait a tick... Surrounded by thousands of very willing and hot girls and a virgin? That must mean... :wow:

But yeah that would take some serious principle.

You can't spell Pillow Biter with T-E-B-O-W.

At least he is not running around with a couple of kids to his name before he even gets out of college. Say what you will, but the man has discipline.

Why was this such a big deal? Does it really matter?

+1. I've seen this headline today, but never cared to read. Finally I opened this thread to see why anyone cares about this. I still haven't found a good reason.

Not a huge deal but I decided to mark Nov 14th on my calendar just in case. That's the day Florida travels to Columbia.

I gotta say that although I sort of understand where the majority of people are coming from this matter and that Spurrier did it on purpose, I absolutely disagree.

I've met him personally and have even played golf with the man. I TRULY think this was an oversight. Spurrier gets a bad rep from the media and thus many people don't understand him because all they hear is what's on the tube. I used to be somewhat in that boat until I met him last spring.

The guy is an absolute class act. Maybe a touch arrogant (which I happen to believe is more of a large amount of confidence.) But don't you think that most of us could possibly be that way too had we had the amount of success and notariety that he has and has had. He's coached Nat'l Champions and Heisman winner not to mention accomplishing the same thing personally

I mean think about it. Why would he do that and why would he lie?

he's never been the guy to back away from the fight. He's not the type to throw a jab when no one's looking.

He's they guy that will run the score up to prove a point or just because he can. he's the guy that'll call out someone on their faults without an excuse or apology. he's the coach that'll get in your face instead of venting to the media or other people first.

It's a known fact that SID's do a lot of if not the vast of majority of popular voting (with the exception of TOP 25 voting which is where they take time to fill out)

Spurrier didn't lie about this. He really did mistake. What good would it be for him to lie to the media about it? He's never been that type to run away from the fight or call a spade a spade. Had he done it on purpose, I'd be my paycheck that he'd come out and say "yes I did it" and hears why. Why would he do that to UF of all places. That school is deeply regarded and thought of by him. He owes a majority of his personal and professional success to the university first and foremost. he wouldn't do that..and he wouldn't pick on a CLASS ACT like Tim Tebow to throw under the bus or a jab at.

That's my take. After meeting him and spending time with both him and his wife I can honestly say this and with a little more "KNOW ABOUT IT" than a majority of everyone on here.

Spurrier is a class act .... it's the media that's given him the bad rep. He doesn't and hasn't wavored from his thoughts and opinions, why would he start now????

Come on man!!! Why call out a guy of class, athleticism, and most importantly INTEGRITY and MORALS.

Who cares if he's a virgin? AND WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT IT? DO you want to take his virginity? Are you the pillow biter?

Tebow is probably one of or if not the PICTURE of a INTEGRITY and what CHARACTER of College Athletes and for that many CHRISTIAN HUMAN BEINGS in General.

He's not afraid to talk about or display his faith outwardly in both words and actions. The kid is amazing both on and off the field.

I can't believe that you'd stoop as low as to call out a Man of his stature on something that he holds dearly.

This really shows the amount of class that YOU Have

Lighten up, Francis. It was a joke.

But don't let that stop you from waving your hands about and freaking out in new and creative ways.

The name's PSYCHO....call me Francis and I'll kill ya.

I hear ya on the joke part, I just think he's probably the last person to make jokes of (especially twice)

He's a TRUE AMBASSADOR for the sport and christians all over.

That's just my opinion though.....had it been something creative about Stafford I would have laughed.

I just have a tremendous amount of respect of Tebow both as a player and person.

That's all
