Gentlemen,

There lies before us an opportunity. A chance to bring back what was once ours. What began as ours. Sir John Heisman once walked the Flats, and he has not returned since those days. We now have a chance to bring him back. Not you and I, no, but one Jonathan Dwyer. You and I, we can help Mr. Dwyer, though. A revolution has begun, and we call ourselves the Dwyer Brigade. We have one fight to fight and we'll fight it til it's faught. We fight for Dwyer for Heisman.

Our adversaries are more well-known. Our hope is in a "system back." He leads a team not yet in the national title picture. But fear not. Though the fight will be tough, the fight can be won. With Captain Paul Johnson at the helm, anything can be done, and with the support of the Dwyer Brigade, young Jonathan will soon be heard from on a bigger stage. On a stage in New York, with a small, bronze man in hand.

Sure, Saint Tebow has the love of the people, and both he and Sir Bradford already know Mr. Heisman. But do they have a Brigade? I submit that they do not. With your help, Master Dwyer's name will be all over the internet and television. You'll see him on Twitter, on Facebook, and now on t-shirts. All he has to do is his part on the field. We'll take care of the rest.

So I ask you, gentlemen, do you believe in the cause? Will you join the Dwyer Brigade?

Where does one purchase the shirt?

edit: nevermind, I bothered to actually click on the link.

So you say you're willing to fight for brother John?
Then sir, I challenge you...
Offer this shirt IN WHITE, and sell it to me somewhere near BDS on 9/10, and I believe you will find MANY of us more than willing to join you.

WHITEOUT SIR, WHITEOUT

WHITEOUT SIR, WHITEOUT

I thought about it, but I wasn't going to make an uglier shirt just because of one game. Besides, what would we debate about if we couldn't decide which shade of gold the shirt is?

We should be wearing gold to every other game anyway.

I like the idea.

I like the idea of making white ones and selling them before the Clemson game even more.

It is practically impossible for Dwyer to break the top 3 in Heisman voting this season.

Dwyer may have a chance next season IF:
He comes back (unlikely, probably #1 RB in the 2010 draft).
He gets at least ~1750 yards in 2009 and 2010 (unlikely).
GT is in the national title hunt in 2009 (possible, no more than 2 total losses, win ACC, top 10 finish).
GT plays for the national title in 2010 (not so probable but possible).

There's probably a .01% chance of this actually happening and a few t-shirts won't change it.

But I have no problem with fans coming together, selling some shirts, and making a push. Its nowhere near as ridiculous as Clemson's hilariously doomed "Spiller for Heisman" campaign.

Agreed, it's a long shot. Things would have to fall perfectly, but we might as well have fun with it and show him some support while we have a legitimate candidate on campus.

I actually think a more likely situation is Nesbitt for Heisman in 2010. Dwyer leaves and there is a ~1500 yard void that must be filled on offense. All the proven QBs in the land are in the NFL. An improved senior Nesbitt throwing to Senior Demaryius Thomas, stud Sophomore Stephen Hill who is now fully familiar with the system, and reliable 3rd option Tyler Melton will create an EXPLOSION of passing yards. If Nesbitt meets PJs goal of 1000 rushing and 2000 passing while playing for the national championship in 2010 he is a great Heisman candidate.

Nice optimism

No what? No Dwyer for Heisman or No shirt?

talk about a lame post

Well we made fun of U[sic]GA for talking about Heisman for Moreno and we are killing Clemson for promoting Spiller. Yet here we are doing the same thing for Dwyer, when he has less of a chance than either of them.

Like MTown said, Dwyer only has a real chance if he comes back next year. If he does, then I think he has a realistic chance, assuming we do well this year. If not, well, it's really no shame...the Heisman is more of a popularity contest than even the rankings.

Right now we are a system team until proven otherwise, which means Dwyer is a system player until proven otherwise. This is the year that we can prove the "system" is just as good as any pro set. That means that next year(assuming we do so, which we will), Dwyer can prove that he is just as good as any player in the country, and mabe the best.

I think Dwyer has a better chance than either of them had or will have and the proof will be in the puddin'. Moreno wasn't even on the radar at the end of the season and I doubt Spiller will make the top 10 in 2009 but I wouldn't be surprised to see Dwyer at #5, or maybe even #4 if he improves significantly on last season.

Put it this way....If an RB is invited, it should be and quite possibly will be.

Bottom line, it isn't about the probability of winning it dicks.

It's about supporting the 20 yr old kid who's a helluva talent and should be recognized on a big stage for doing so.

I never cease to be amazed by some people on here

Atleast Motown exlplained why and what he was thinking about the situation.

gt816...no one could tell what the hell you were talking about....again, no original thought

I didn't say I wouldn't buy a shirt, I just said it wouldn't help.

He's not going to win the Heisman because of a shirt, but things like websites, Twitter, and Facebook groups w/ X number of followers and a bunch of people wearing shirts with his name on it can't hurt exposure, something Dwyer lacks.

And like THWG said, it'd be pretty cool as a 20 year old kid to see people walking around wearing your name on their shirt.

Thank you....you've got people on here that wanna throw in the towel and preach about the weak chance of him winning the award instead of doing they're due diligence to support both the school (because he represents the institute and team 1st and foremost)

But the flipside is people like gt816 will jump all over you if you bash Paul Hewitt who's doing nothing but tarnishing the reputation of GT Basketball (...with the exception of 1 yr)

MTown...no fault toward you....I understand what you're saying.

It's others that are just a waste

That is dumb. This is the kind of thing that has a good impact on recruiting. Why do you think Lane Kiffin and Tennessee are doing the Berry for Heisman thing? It's not because they think Berry is going to win the Heisman, that's for sure.
