If we could have made a 30 yard FG, we win.If JJ Green doesn't fumble deep in Tennessee territory, we win.

This doesn't even make sense, bc that never happened before eitherWhen the best RB or receiver on Alabama, Ohio St or UGA transfers to Tech then I'll be on board.
Not if we keep letting them use their officials.plus we might actually beat an SEc team eventually.
Correct.I'm hearing we're dropping the Georgia State game.
Agree. Our ACC schedule will be what it is, but anything we can do to get Tenn and Auburn back on the schedule with some regularity helps us from a fan engagement perspective.Regional rivalries are the only thing that willsaveresurrect and make college football a good sport again.
Whose fans? Sure, Tennessee fans will love coming to Atlanta, tailgating at the Benz, getting a W, and going home. How many times do GT alumni have to have the football pulled by Lucy until we see a pattern?Agree. Listen, I’ll be at the game wearing white and gold. But, just like at the ND game, we all know we won’t be walking out with a W. Having hope is one thing, but until we start out recruiting the SEC we aren’t winning,
If you want to discuss the specifics of that game - we will be losing our 3 year starter at QB and RB. You just don’t replace them. I know, Philo is the greatest, but at that point he would have sat the bench for over 2 1/2 years. That’s a lot of rust. And Tennessee is going to be hurting this upcoming season which means they are going to open the NIL dollars even more for 2026. Then add on top we have no clue if Buster will be here or even Weinke because the SEC has enough money to buy our coaches out from under us.
I’m fine playing Tennessee instead of Ga State and taking the cash over a W, but when we get a low tier or no bowl game we have no one to blame but ourselves.

That's every optionjacket post. This is a giant turd of a post.
So, its not an option? That's every optionjacket post.
Not really sure what you mean by rust for Philo. He played in multiple games in 2024 and will likely play in multiple games in 2025. If he is the QB in 2026, he will begin his first season as a starter with a lot more experience than most new starting QBs do.Whose fans? Folks also need to understand that, while we live King, if he battles injuries and struggles, Philo starts this season at some point.Have you ever been an athlete? Having a few plays here and there is not the same as being the guy. Philo played in the state championship game as a senior in Dec 2023. By the time he’s the starter at GT it will be Sept. 2026. That’s a long time for an athlete to sit out of actual competition. I think he’ll be ok his first year as a starter but my point is that if you guys are expecting Philo to come in and produce at the same level as a 3 year D1 starter then you are putting a lot on him. Philo’s 2026 season should be compared to King’s 2023 season. But we all know fans will immediately compare him to King’s senior season.
I hope Key’s actions follow his words - that he plays the players that give GT the best chance to win. Now, that we don’t have the redshirt issue regarding Philo (who I was hoping we wouldn’t burn in a season that was going no where), I sure hope we don’t have a QB limping all over the field like we saw a lot last year (or maybe we don’t use our QB as a battering ram every third play).Folks also need to understand that, while we live King, if he battles injuries and struggles, Philo starts this season at some point.

Not at all. I know he has some playing time. But this board seems to think he’s already a top tier QB and we won’t miss a beat. We will absolutely miss some beats with a new starter. His first 2 games as a starter will be Colorado and Tennessee. That’s my only concern. And if we start out 0-2 folks are gonna be looking for a scapegoat. I would much rather open up with some patsies for a first time starter but since we are taking the money for the Tennessee game I just hope our staff has him ready.None of what you're describing is particularly different from most new starting QBs. Again, he will have more experience than most new starting QBs do. He has played whole drives and the bulk of entire games. You're acting like he played in a state championship in 2023 and has been huddling in a cave ever since.
