SEC is Better than ACC

I still think that UVA and Duke could both Clean WSU's clock on a bad day.

Great, let's argue about which conference has the worst patsy. I still say for the last 5-6 years running the conference champ of the SEC, Big-10, Big-12, and PAC-10, would crush the ACC champ. In in most years the number 2 team in those conferences would too. We just haven't had a high caliber team in far too long.

This mentality is silly. I doubt the top Big 10 team any of the past 5-6years would crush the ACC champ. tOSU might win, but I don't think they would crush VT or whoever else any of those years. Not to mention he clear No. 2 team in the SEC had their issues with VT Saturday night.

Every conference has its issues and there's hardly a team of Florida's caliber past, well, Florida. I just saw tOSU barely survive against Navy and Iowa barely suirviving against UNI. The SEC does appear to be the best conference this year, but saying crap like the ACC isn't BCS caliber is stupid.

The WAC and the Mountain West are also better then the ACC. But they are also better then the Big East. What's the first year the BCS can take the auto-bid from the ACC and BE? Neither conference really deserves one anymore.

It was apparent before the season began they were better.
They have Florida, and that's hard to compete with regardless. Not to mention Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, all in the top 11.
Every team in the sec BLEW OUT their opponent yesterday
Miss. st. throttled some team 45-7 I think and Vanderbilt won 45-0. Heck even Kentucky shut out Miami of OH and put up 40+ on them. Auburn was the only one that struggled a bit but in the end they pulled away won 37-13.
We as a conference as a whole have a long way to go.

I'm a SC Gamecock fan and they didn't blow out their opponent (NC State) on Thursday night, but I'm still glad they won. They are playing the Dawgs this weekend and although I'm not counting on a win, I'm very hopeful.

Being said that I'm a South Carolina fan, then you may have already guessed that I detest Clemson, so I'm going to be disappointed big time if Tech loses this Thursday. GO JACKETS!!!

One team does not a conference make. No matter how bad the bottom of the conference is, at the end of the day the ACC will still have 3-4 top 25 teams and 5-6 top 40 teams. I can't say the same for either of those conferences.

You must not have watched the Bama vs Va Tech game. Va Tech gave it a good shot; but it was clear that Bama was the better, more balanced, team. As the game went on Va Tech simply faded. In the start of rebuilding year for Bama, they wore down the ACC Champ with a quarterback making his first start. Va Tech played well defensively; but if not for Bud Foster and some special teams plays it would have been a blow out.

The fact is that tOSU and Iowa survived. When the season ends it only matters that's you got the 'W', not that you got it by '4' or by '40'. If the ACC can start winning the Orange Bowl against teams other than Cincinnati then they will become legit. The ACC needs quality wins against respected programs like tOSU, Penn St., Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, USCwest, etc.. We are not getting them. At the same time, the ACC needs to survive rather than loose to teams like William and Mary.

Even you seem to be quietly conceding that the ACC will have a tough time getting a team in the top 10, that is the problem. This year I hope a team steps up and gets a quality BCS Bowl win and a solid top 10 finish, and I hope it is us.

This isn't a rebuilding year for Bama the same way next year will not be a rebuilding year even if we lose Dwyer and Burnett. 2009 was when Bama was suppose to be the national contender. Probably wouldn't of been last year hadn't Clemson been so horridly overrated and making that game such a big deal.

SEC is better than the ACC, that is how things look this season thus far. ACC is guaranteed better than the Big East. ACC is definitely better than any non-BCS conference except perhaps the MWC. This even could be changed because FSU vs BYU and Clemson vs TCU.

Lets not go calling for the BCS to drop the ACC because of a bad weekend like the media was doing last year. They all changed their tune by the end of the season and as a result they don't seem to be slamming us as much as last year. Let VPI lose to Nebraska, us lose to Vandy and one of the florida schools lose to USF before we start questioning our place in the Orange Bowl.

I said to some friends before the season that UT would contend for the SEC East. I still stand by that. UT will be ready for UF.

I still don't think they have enough offensively and I think Lane Kiffin is a clown but with Monte running the D (and Eric Berry plus the talent they usually have on the Dline) they will be tough to deal with this year.

Yeah, it's not a rebuilding year for Bama. Like I said before the game, I'm happy that VT could just keep it close. At this point, Bama would clearly look better than 90% of teams out there right now.

Again, I'm just saying it's asinine to say the ACC should lose its autobid. Yeah, the conference looked bad with Maryland losing big to Cal, but that's a year after Cal lost to Maryland. These things ebb and flow, but on average the ACC is still in the top 6 conferences and its not all that close.

Tech will represent.

Miami is not Miami yet again this year. FSU's kicker might be worse than ours.

That's just silly...neither is close to the ACC as a whole. But you know that.

ACC has more teams. But the 3 best MWC team are better then the 3 best ACC teams, at least according to every poll.

BYU (9)
Utah (16)
TCU (17)
Air Force
UNLV
Colorado St.
New Mexico
Wyoming
San Diego St.

Ours are Tech, the Chicken Humpers, and the U.

The "middle road" MWC teams are Air Force, UNLV and Colorado State, the basement dwellers are NW Wyoming and SDS.

Their middle road is at least as good as the ACC middle road of Wake, FSU and NC. Those teams suck and can lose on any Saturday.

ACC just has more teams, if they merged the WAC and MWC it would be better than the ACC. It would be FAR better then the Big East.

You're kidding here, right? Ha...ha...haha...hahaha.... Yeah?

Are you saying that Air Force, UNLV and Colorado State are better teams than FSU, UNC and Wake? Really?

:wow:

If this isn't a joke, you've lost your mind.
