REMINDER: CPJ radio show 7pm tonight

Listening now... Said something about people saying that offense can do anything but steal the Lindbergh baby.

Could someone post a summary of this? I missed it up until now, so I won't be listening to the whole thing until tomorrow.

I missed part of it a few minutes ago, but just mentioned that he was amazed at how man people jumped ship over the loss. Said that he didn't think they would win all 12 and doesn't believe anyone will.

Defensive scheme won't be changing much, just personnel. He feels that they need more pressure at the quarterback.

He also feels that neither the offense nor the defense are good at anything.

Had to miss a few minutes again to get my food, but he's talking about recruiting and talking to the kid's parents and that sort of stuff.

He feels that LSU game and Miami game were nothing alike, because LSU game was over at half but Miami game wasn't. Miami beat us not necessarily because our offense couldn't score, but because our defense couldn't get their offense off the field. Basically was saying that we're exactly where we were last year, and that we could still win the ACC.

Talking about getting teams to play us. Sort of made fun of Georgia for paying loads of cash to play teams like North Texas while we don't have the fan base to be able to spend that much money on teams like that. Says that he would have no wanted our schedule, because of the short time between the first games and the difficulty of the teams back to back for the more than half of the first year.

So it seems like he is saying a lot of what he has been saying. I thought he would be coming out with some wild quote.

Meh, that was really it from the more important stuff I caught. I guess it's good to just hear the coach is still alive.

Other that what's already been posted, some things that stuck out for me:

He emphasized stopping the run on defense. As for offense, he said something to the effect of, "We're going to run it. I'm teling them right now, we're going to run the ball, so bring it on." This drew cheers from the folks at the Fox Sports Grill.

He said that he expects more playing time for Marcus Wright and was very complimentary of Wright. I think he said the same about Orwin Smith.
A lot of what he said was really similar to things we heard from the press conference yesterday.

Lemme see what else I can remember

As was said, part of the defensive change was due to injuries. Emphasized a couple of times that we need to stop "something." Said people focussed on the lack of pass defense, but Miami ran the ball well on us too which enabled them to keep the ball away from our offense.

Agreed that we need to find a way to get more pressure on the QB. Caller asked if we planned to blitz more. Said we weren't really changing anything, but then said we'd keep sending more until we could get pressure. He did hint that we would be blitzing more if we found we needed to.

He implied that the offense wasn't as bad as it looked. For one thing we only had the ball a handful of series the whole game. Many times a single block made on the outside would have resulted in a huge gain, but we either didnt make the block or went after the wrong man.

A lot had to do with the two defenses we've faced. Said to see at season's end how many teams gained over 400 on Clemson.

He was a little defensive. Said people shouldn't be in such a panic over a single loss. But mostly he was his usual confident, candid self. Great wisecracks. I swear, he could make you feel pretty good at your own mother's funeral. It is impossible to listen to one of these shows without coming away feeling better about things.

I agree he said a lot that he said yesterday but I just love our coach. You just get the feeling he is going to do some big things..

I'm with ya. And I'll admit, that I wasn't thrilled about the "boring" offense. However, having several friends who've played for him and got rings at Southern, they all enlightened me and spoke of how there is no other coach who can get the most of his players. You can't help but trust in him and buy into what he's selling and instilling in the players (on and off the field)

He's no nonsense, but at the same time he's a good guy who Loves what he does and Loves those that are with him

We've got a fine coach but more importantly a Fine Man as well. Something that we've needed for a long time. I'm not saying no one has been those 2 things but not too many have been both. Gailey was a helluva man but seemed to manage his players instead of coaching them

I can't help but get fired up everytime I see or hear about him and what he's doing

"Did you get that? We are going to run the ball."

He was giving a message.

They've been really good at stopping the run , but Coach, to me, was saying 'Bring it on!'
