Dinich provides an answer to the seemingly endless questions on StingTalk about what happens if theres a 3-way tie in the ACC Coastal. unfortunately, she just basically copy-and-pasted the rules from the ACC website...
For those of you saying that it will go to the team with the highest BCS ranking, that's not true. If we beat FSU and Miami loses to Clemson (who we beat, in other words a common Atlantic opponent), and we beat VT, then we will go.
1. Combined Records (assuming theres a 10-2 tie, on to #2)
2. Record in the Coastal (GT MUST beat VT for this one, then all 3 have 1 loss)
3. Head-to-head against the best in the league (redundant... on to #4)
4. Record vs. common Atlantic teams (We beat Clemson, but lost to FSU. Miami must lose to Clemson... then we're all tied, since VT has no common Atlantic opponent)
5. Overall record vs. Atlantic teams (any Atlantic team)
6. If we are all tied up in this, and if Miami and VT don't climb any higher than where they are as of Sunday, we are all 3 tied because our highest positions are all w/in 5 slots of eachother (GT #14, UM #9, VT #5)
7. Flip a coin/ draw straws.
Basically Clemson MUST beat Miami, GT MUST beat VT, and then we'll be fine... sort of...
