It's exciting to have games like that...but I hope every remaining game this season isn't like last night. We look like West Virginia did a few years ago. After the Gator Bowl, walking out of the stadium, I was talking with some West Virgina fans (nice people by the way), and I commented that hopefully we have found a good QB for next year, the guy looked me straight in the eye and said, "I wouldn't bank on it, our D makes every QB look like that".

After Nesbitt fumbled to start the second half I was near alcohol poisoning, I don't even know how we won pretty sure I blacked out actually.

If we don't correct the crap we did on defense last night, we don't stand a chance against VPI. A touchdown when in three deep? Having Derek Morgan go man with no help over the top? Calling house blitzes that don't even sniff the quarterback? Wommack needs to get this **** together, because I'm starting to lose faith in the defense.

I think VPI has more bonehead plays than our D. I'm actualy feeling a lot better playing VPI than FSU. Maybe I'm crazy.

I seem to recall the Canes struggling to stop FSU earlier in the season. Certainly they struggled a bit more than they did against us.

So maybe the D isn't all bad. It would be nice to get a bit more pressure on the QB though...

Yes, you are. They beat BC 48-14 and Miami 31-7. And before you mention it, I'm sure how much stock to take in the Duke game. That probably counts as much as Gardner-Webb did last year for us.

However in terms of where we want to be as a program, we have to beat teams losing like FSU has been. ("You lost to the team that lost to BC or the Bulls or almost lost to Jax State"...)

VT is a lower pressure game as you don't lose much prestige losing to a top 5 team. If they beat us and are the better team so be it. It is a low risk/high reward game for us.

So perhaps he feels better since we should feel less pressure to win.

We outscored FSU 21-9 in the second half.

That's about the nicest thing I can say about our defense right now. Hope they can build on it. Looking forward to a loud, hostile home crowd to help em out.
