We're a nerd school. Our traditions are as dorky as they come. I embrace and love this. There's nothing wrong with having fans that are intelligent.
 
Heaven forbid that our fanbase is characterized as actually going to class occasionally. It is so cool to stay drunk all through college and graduate with a 2.1.

Am I the only person who thinks the booing of AJ Suggs is the most embarrassing thing our fanbase has done in recent memory? I've been known to talk a lot of **** but even I draw the line there.

At Tech, we can be nerdy, learn math, stay drunk, watch football, and graduate with a 2.1, all at the same school.

That's what truly makes us unique, in my opinion.

I've done some embarrassing things at games, but I have never booed a player or a coach who was trying to represent my school.

I did not.

I was sitting with my boss, my boss's boss, and a 55 year old coworker at the time. And I don't think I would have booed even if I wasn't sitting with them. I have never booed a Tech student athlete or coach. I have booed the hell out of some refs, though.

I'll tell you what I did do, though, I came back here to stingtalk and made a bet for some booze, that someone still owes me on.

Tech wasn't always a nerd school. As a matter of fact, we went to great lengths to penalize nerdish behavior as we saw it begin to creep its ugly way onto the campus. The few grad students who carried satchels were ridiculed constantly as were any students so nerdy and ignorant as to wear a slide rule on their belt. Indeed, intelligence was defined as having enough sense to behave in a non-nerdy manner.

NEVER boo the student/player--maybe the COACH sometimes--but the player is doing his best-- even if his best isn't GOOD enough--BOO the other TEAM!!

NEVER boo the student/player--maybe the COACH sometimes--but the player is doing his best-- even if his best isn't GOOD enough--BOO the other TEAM!!--and the ref's of course!

That, the booing of Gailey on the jumbotron, and the booing and jeering of Reggie Ball were all embarrassing. I, too, can truthfully say that I've never booed any Tech coaches or players.
 
Ever heard of "TBS" Tech Bitch Syndrome. In reality these girls are 6's maybe 7's at best, but bc they r hottest on campus at Tech they have attitude like they r a 9 or 10. I never much associated with Tech students until I actually attended grad school here, and lte me tell you, TBS exists and its very prevalant. I went to Duke and its pretty much the same thing there. Thats why u journey to Chapel Hill and all u have to do to get some from the Hill Hookers is say, "Yeah, I'm in Duke law school..." She'll be naked in ten minutes.

Yes, I have a problem.

Let me tell you what a nerd fan is... he's one who won't yell and only claps his hands for good plays. "Well done chap, bravo, I say". NERD.
