It's hard to define "overrated" and "underrated" in terms of a player's entire career. It is possible for a player to be overrated at times and underrated at times. For example, in my opinion Reggie Ball was overrated as a frosh and is now generally underrated by the fan base. Joe Hamilton was probably underrated by many when he was a fr-soph and one could argue that he is overrated generally today. And of course people won't agree on which players are overrated and underrated; if everyone agreed that a player was overrated, he wouldn't be overrated, now would he? Questions like this are just discussion questions; no reason to argue about what the words really mean or tell someone their definition is out of whack. It's a vague question to begin with. For example, the question doesn't even specify *by whom* a player is under- or overrated. Fans back then? Fans today? Recruiting services? NFL scouts? Fans of other teams? The media?
