Air Force favored over Georgia Tech

AF-24 Oklahoma- 27 Any guesses what a game with OU would look like for us!? :>(

I am thinking not pretty if we don't play a decent game, but I honestly don't think we would be blown out if we show up like we did against Virginia Tech. Yes, the defense has been sub par, but there have been times when the defense played a great game and the offense or the special teams laid an egg. If we play all three aspects of the game well, then I don't see why we couldn't give them a game.

Problem is we haven't done that in over two years.

Could this be one of the shortest bowl games in recent history? With two running offenses, it may fly by. We'll see...

“@BobGlauber: A name getting some buzz in NFL agent circles about potential replacement for Josh McDaniels: Air Force coach Troy Calhoun. #broncos”

Highly unlikely but still thought I would share.

Doesn't the Air Force have height/weight restrictions? If this is the case I expect our more physical players to smoke their chair force asses by the 2nd half.

Whoa.

"Tech is 3-0 against Air Force. The Jackets won games in 1977, ‘78 and ‘79. Eddie Lee Ivery rushed for a school record 356 yards in the 1978 game. The Falcons’ defensive coordinator? Al Groh, who is now Tech’s defensive coordinator." UH OH.

This game is very much like Emerald Bowl '05 and Boise Bowl '07:

-Players are not going to be jazzed about 15 extra practices for a Mid-major opponent.
-Fans are not excited about going west of the Mississippi.
-Coming off a disappointing loss to ugay.

The difference:

Paul Johnson

Everyone says the option isn't worth it because it gets crushed in bowl games....well....i guess this year will be the ultimatum.

the emerald bowl utah team had some talent. eric weddle and the dbs completely shut down Calvin

yes, because clearly a poor performance from USAFA's defense will negate what LSU and Iowa did.

AFA's option didn't get crushed in a bowl last year. They beat Houston 47-20

Navy's option didn't get crushed against Mizzou last year 35-13

The option doesn't have a problem in bowl games. GT has a problem in bowl games.
