When I blasted the Buzzoff board I tried to make the exception that there are some people (3518 at the time was the only one who came to mind) that have been very critical and rightfully so of our program. I can appreciate their criticism because its obvious some of you love Tech and want to see the best.

With that said, The Buzzoff board is a downright black eye on Georgia Tech and for the most part the guys who post over there are depression junkie dicks that don't give a rats ass about Georgia Tech at all. They don't care who they drag through the mud as long as they get what they want in the end, a new coach.

My post was slamming that mentality. I appreciate you defending me over there, but don't bother. Those guys are sacks of crap and I'll be happy to tell them that to their face. I sit in section 127 row 5, seats 7. Just come down there and yell "HEY Barrel!" I'll let you know who I am.

With that said, again, I did not mean to lump everyone in the same category. But like someone said above, you hang with scum, people tend to think you are scum too. I could have just named certain people on that board. But 80% of the people that post are a flat out embaressment to Georgia Tech, and last night was a glaring example of just how bad they are.

I hope you guys wake up and realize that your opinions are welcome on this board. I realize that some guys like BW cannot control himself to respond intelligently to your opposing view points, and instead resorts to calling people liars. We are trying to make him more aware of this, but I am as frustrated with his postings as you are. He's run off a lot of people and has given this board a reputation that we cannot be critical of our team. This is BS. Most here are very "tell it like it is" and don;t sugarcoat.

I am sorry you took offense to what I posted, but understand that I realize my intention of slamming that board was to wake some of you guys up to their "hate Tech" mentality. I would think you guys are better than that. You can be critical of our program. You don't have to like our coach, and you cna post that on this board. You don;t need to run over to a bunch of people who are bad for our school just because they share your opinions on our football program. Hell, I share many of your same concerns for our coach and program.

Buzzoff is a downright embaressment and for the most part the majority of their members can go to hell, Beebad can lead the way! Again though, I am sorry if you felt I was attacking you. I just wanted some to wake up and realize that these guys aren;t good for Tech. You can have a voice and show concern and make change in other ways. I've proved it.

Just wanna make one thing clear in my other post I said that the official intent of buzzoff is to destroy Chan Gailey's career at GT at any costs. That doing so to Gailey would also destroy GT football for years to come is of no consequence to them.

Destroying Georgia Tech football is not something buzzoff wants to do, but if it'll get rid of Gailey, they're all for it!
 
Although there are a few reasonable posters over there it is the most boring, single issue message board I've ever seen. And I check out a lot of fan sites for schools around the country. There are a few people there who have let their hatred for Chan overshadow everything else related to Tech athletics. Most have some misguided idea that if only (fill in the blank) had happened we would be playing for the NC every year. Stupid, stupid discussions that take every nuance of a comment or article and spin it into some wild scenario worthy of Oliver Stone.

It's also the most insulting board I've seen from any school towards the school, coaches, administrators and other posters.

I stopped posting there because they bore me. You can't discuss anything but Chan and you can't really discuss him. It's either agree with their party line or get ready for the personal insults. I still check it out just for laughs but would highly recommend that everyone just ignore them. If we win next year the board will cease to exist.

Wow...I didn't know that...and have never even been there, in fact. But did Buzzoff just recently start, and has it been in fact stated that the 'official' purpose is to destroy CG's career?
 
It's been around for at least a year, if not significantly longer. It's a board whose original regular posters thought Chan was the Antichrist, liked Caps Lock, and didn't know how to end a sentence with a single period.

I enjoyed the few posts that ahsoisee made over there while someone else kept comparing Chan to a clearly incompetent human resources department.

You're mistaken about Buzzoff. A lot of the posters on Buzzoff think Chan Gailey is bad for the program and want a change. Many people have mentioned bringing in Dan Hawkins of Boise State. I don't see how that would hurt Georgia Tech. I think there is a difference between being anti-Georgia Tech and anti-Gailey. I've chatted with Beebad and he's a Tech fan. We were chatting during the Maryland game and Beebad was complaing that UGA was getting away with holding on their final drive against UT. It's not just Blackwatch but others like GEETEELEE, GT_DEAN, and MM42 have hurled insults at me. It doesn't bother me. I'll keep stating my opinion until I get banned. I soured on Gailey with what I feel was his shabby treatment of Bilbo and his missed opportunity to hire a big-time OC in 2003. I'm a lifelong Tech fan and Tech graduate (1985). I remember my first Tech game in 1970 against UGA (Tech won 17-7). I feel like the problems go beyond Gailey and rest with Braine and Clough. If they aren't corrected, we will see what I saw in the 1980's of 3 win seasons and 25,000 crowds.

Oh God, enough with the drama Barrel. Just because we post on BuzzOff doesn't make us horrible people.
 
Barrel has taken it upon himself to be Hall Monitor I think these last few days, All of a sudden when I broke the Pat Carter story before anyone else, ( BOR of course touts that he is right 99.9% of the time, so I guess because he didnt break the story he felt embarresed) he has tried to convince me not to post over here anymore saying there are a lot of people that dont like me on this board. I know that Old Foggy was told by some not to post over here anymore by people also...Heck, Ahso was told that by many at one time.....While I realize there are many that dont like my style and definetly not the message, that will NOT stop me from posting, (ESPECIALLY BOR) from me not posting here.

I have some INSIDE info. Like the Pat Carter story and I will share a lot more with you guys AFTER Christmas!!!..

Insults have been hurled by many here

to people all the time...Ive been guilty, and Im sorry as emotions run high as to what fans think is best for GT football...But thanks for saying im not the only one that has hurled insults...Bor has emailed me now some 10 times saying im the ONLY one hurling insults and im just ignoring it and TRYING very hard not to just blast him...But, I think we can all discuss GT football without the name calling...Im willing to say I will stop ANY name calling IF someone doesnt call me a name....BOR, has been the ALL-Time worst at name calling from WAY-back on his hive day's....I think the Mod's should start a 0% tolerance on name calling...Im going to suggest that to them....

Let's get the FACTS here.

Actually I believe I had that title on the hive. Maybe it was split with BOR but I'm not sure. What I do know is that they openly banned the use of the words "idiot" and "moron" at a time when half my posts contained those words. Coincidence? I think not.

Also, I was once banned from the hive for calling someone a homosexual. I'm so proud.

And for the record, you are not the only person who has resorted to calling me names on this board. You do claim 99% of the insults hurled my way, though - including threats of violence last season.

Aren't message boards great?

I was told by another poster that BOR and Chili were one in the same with 2 different accounts....I do notice that BOR and you post a lot of times in the same time frame....I dont know what to believe, but im just being honest in saying someone told me that last year...

But, I really do wish here that the mod's would have a 0% tolerance at name calling....Ive lurked over on the Miami site quit a bit and IMHO...I dont think it is as bad over there as it is here!!! That to me is kind of crazy..Because there are some crazy's over there...

That's hilarious, but definitely not true. The only other name I post with is JOJATK, but typically I only use that one on the hive. BOR also posts as CrackerJacket. Maybe that's where the confusion is.

Hopefully this cleared some things up.

techie; I don't specifically recall hurling insults at you, but in the heat of the reply I certainly may have, but you are at least (more or less) reasonable and thoughtful in your opinions. I disagree with many of them, but that's OK and you have every right to express them.

The reason I hate buzzoff and why I quit posting there is because not only does peepad (I have NO respect for that font) allow personal attacks, insults, inuendos, unfounded rumors, and outright lies and fabrications about our coaches and the program and the athletes to go on and on unrestrained and unchecked, HE PARTICIPATES AND ENCOURAGES IT. He will go in and change posts, which is OK, without noting that the post has been edited, which is not OK.

I myself have been the subject of ridicule, attacks and lies over there from multiple fonts simply because I've defended the coaches against such garbage.

Every quote, news item, or story coming out of the GT football program is twisted and construed as a negative used as yet another slam against Gailey reguardless of what it is, INCLUDING a bowl win of 51-14.

It's disgusting and pathetic. Most, not all, but most of the posters there are unreasonable, unrealistic people at best and at worst they are obsessed pathological liars.

One big sore point over there (and with you) is our wide receiver Damarious Bilbo. According to some, but for Gailey's handling of him, Bilbo would be Montana, Marino and Manning all in one. Never mind how ludicrous that is, the real thing is, you and those over there on buzzoff are far more upset over Bilbo's position change TWO YEARS AGO than Bilbo is himself. Bilbo has bought into the WR position and into Gailey's offensive philosophy big time. The coach trusts him with some of our most important recruits and Bilbo is a fine example of a team player and a Georgia Tech man. There is no controversy on the team about Bilbo, it's only in the demented minds on buzzoff.

LIE....Bor (Im not trying to flame you) and some others do not like it when I use the word LIAR...BUT, Im sorry I call it the way I see it...There are WAY too many lies spoken by the Buzzoff people that come over here on occasion.......I wouldn't call anyone a Liar unless I believe it is an outright lie!!

I learned long ago when I was young (actually had the lesson beaten into me!) not to be calling people liars unless you are damn sure of your facts...and can back it up.

Your ABSOLUTELY right about that in the OLD days...The word LIAR has been thrown around this last generation a lot more with hardly NO CIRCUMSTANCES...I remember my grandad was called a liar in a political situation back in the 50's here in Atlanta at a Barber shop (He was influential in politics) He followed the guy around the corner after the haircut and put a whoopin on the guy..They used to have gun duels over it 100 years ago...BUT, in today's society (Bill Clinton hehehe. exct.) it is just so common for people to lie..You cant take a guy at his word any longer....The word LIAR is not taken as serious as it used to be!!!

lee you are absolutely correct about bilbo. he is happy in his positon with tech now and if you were at the game it was so very easy to see that. it's too bad others can't give it a rest. they should read the book called moving the cheese. the ones that resist change and don't want to move the cheese are the ones that are left behind.
