CPJ doesn't seem thrilled...

Hopefully we can send him off with a Gatorade bath and a callback to the 2009 ACCCG with a C-P-J chant, provided there are enough fans in Detroit the day after Christmas to make it happen.

öööö the Belk Bowl and the ACC.

...with CGC or the media perception.

Makes several back handed statements like "I haven't recruited for 11 years... that's the party line, right? I don't know how we have won any games." Then mentions how he hasn't seen Geoff much. Says "he must be out recruiting" and smirks.

I'm sure he feels disrespected with Tech throwing out the option, but he should've seen that coming. I love the guy, but he should be proud that the team he's built for the last 11 years is not skipping a beat and is being handed off to a capable coach.

That's a totally unfair take, IMHO. I've long felt that CPJ's prickliness was one of his greatest enemies – but it's not on display in this video. He makes a good-humored joke about the perception that he didn't recruit well, and his comment about CGC is value-neutral. He does *not* take a negative suggestion and run with it, or defend it angrily, or anything like that. He's just playing with the reporter pool like he always does.

I was at a party tonight that combined the annual Christmas party with a sort of send off for CPJ from various boosters. (Were any of you there?) CPJ and several players (including TQM) were there, and TStan gave him another hurrah and read off his accomplishments and so forth. Some of the donors in the room were feeling like this board seems to feel – it's been a great run but if he's losing passion, then it's a good time for a change.

Anyhow, there was a thing for everyone to sign to thank CPJ for his work here... I tipped my hat to ST by signing "IIWII".

I don’t get what there’s to get worked up about here? In Paul’s defense I found it a little odd that at Geoff’s press conference Stansbury took some not so subtle shots at Paul’s system. Seemed odd that a week earlier he was all Canadian over Paul leaving and then suddenly he crapped all over Paul’s maple syrup.

Oh well. Can’t wait for Geoff. Hope Paul kills Minnesota.

YOU WERE ON SECOND LIFE TALKING TO A TRANNY FROM ATHENS. DON'T LIE.
Well, Brad Stewart was there. And a ton of CPJ's former players, like Synjyn Days and Sean Bedford and Charles Perkins and Deon Hill and all manner of linemen – all come to say 'thanks' to their coach. It was a nice moment.

Awesome coach...but kinda grouchy which doesn’t lead to the best public perception.

The Urban Dictionary failed me. Google failed me. Wanna help me out?
Look @ me post.

Is Rod your financial planner?

I'm just messing with you. The players I've talked to, at least 3 or 4 of which were there tonight, all love PJ, as well they should. And fans should, too.

I HATE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. YOUR MOM CAN HUM 1000 MILES BY VANESSA CARLTON WHILE SHE SWALLOWS MY FREE WATER BOTTLE REFILL STATION FLAVORED JIZZ. GO öööö YOURSELF WITH A CLEAR BAG.
Orange whip? Anybody want an orange whip? Orange whips all around.

No, he's not. Never met him before tonight. But obviously you know what I'm talking about – were you there, too? (Or do you not want us to look at you?) I ask because I'd like more thoughts from others on the 'mood in the room.' I think TStan is "protesting too much" at this point.

Nah I wasnt there. Just saw a few clips of TStan and CPJ talking posted on social media.

As in, you think he's laying on the CPJ love a little too thick?

Dang it, I need to get on social media. ST is literally the only social media I'm on. Does this even qualify?

Yeah, over the past year I came to the conclusion that TStan was a big supporter of CPJ. But the way he's handling the retirement suggests to me that he's happy CPJ made the decision for him. I certainly don't think TStan was about to fire him, but if next year had been similar to this one, I think TStan was going to have to face a very difficult decision. And now he gets to hire "his" guy instead. Just my two cents – there was certainly a lot of genuine gratitude from everybody in the room.

öööö em all. CPJ for life. Go to hell if you don't like him. CGC is a clown. Don't like it? Big cry me and eat a sack lunch of your mom's chin. You people didn't appreciate the genius we had as a coach and now we have an idiot from Conyers. öööö off and öööö you.I hate you all. @ me and taste steel. Nothing matters.

Look at my Geoff Collins. My Geoff Collins is amazing. Give it a lick.

No doubt Paul bailed Stans out by making the decision himself.

But also, I'd think if Paul didn't think Stansbury was being sincere he might not be willing to play the game by doing things like tonight.
