Never order away tickets through the GTAA. Ordered 4 for Temple months ago. Still no tickets even though they show on my account. Sent GTAA an email two weeks ago, said they were mailing last week. Still no tickets. Sent a message yesterday after checking mail. “Let me check, I’ll get back to you this afternoon”. Still no tickets, still no message. Flight leaves in less than 48 hours. Paid $40 each and could get them on Stubhub for $10. Lesson learned. So much for trying to support GTAA!

Does the AA actually get a cut of the ticket sales?

Just curious, because in this situation it would have made more sense to buy on Stubhub and just cut the AA a check for the difference.

Each team gets an allotment of 'away' tickets and going through the AA puts you (theoretically) into that group of GT supporters as well as giving the GTAA credit for selling that ticket. I don't know if the GTAA gets a cut of that portion or not but my understanding is that GT is paid a set amount for the game, regardless of ticket sales.

I’m 95% sure the GTAA gets money for the tickets they sell to away games before returning unpurchased tix in the allotment.

What section were the tickets supposed be in? I might make the drive from DC on Saturday and will do stubhub tickets. Heard something about 101 for the Tech section?

Tickets are in section 135, I’m told......

I've never been impressed with GTAA getting extra tickets. Have to keep emailing / texting / calling my "guy" since he forgets. Much cheaper and easier to buy direct through stubhub unfortunately.

Years ago after buying through the GTAA I was stuck up in the 600 Goodyear Blimp seats at Sanford and Son. It's about the worst seats you can get. Not just because of the view and distance from the field, but also because it is the worst of the mouth breathers up there. Sorry, but I donate monthly to the GTAA, but it is not to get a quality seat to away games. I use private ticket brokers for that.

The tickets might've been lost in the mail. The person at the AA might have had an emergency. So you are looking kind of like a jerk

Maybe they’re just sitting around, waiting on customers
And Jonathan Winters shows up

GTAA apparently has a perpetual problem with stuff like this. Last time I ordered single game tix through GTAA I got ‘em just a few days before flying to Atlanta (ordered about 3 months earlier), and the envelope wasn’t even sealed. Egad, what nitwits. And they want $ contributions in addition to the ticket price? Their caliber of customer service doesn’t give any confidence that my donation would be spent wisely.

Tried to buy tickets to last year's USF game. Similar give-a-öööö attitude. Finally got them only because my sister is a season ticket holder.

Get acquainted with Mike Castle. Communicate with him when you have an issue.

My tix through GTAA are section 136 row 24. (Got one for sale if anybody’s looking - girlfriend had a brain hemorrhage and can’t go.)

I’ve been buying road game tix through GTAA for every game for a couple of decades and haven’t ever had a problem (other than bad seats, but IIWII).

I hope you mean a metaphorical brain hemorrhage

To settle this, this is not the case. I actually specifically asked my rep about this when I called to order some away game tickets for this season, since prices online were cheaper than those offered by GTAA. He told me they do not benefit financially from sales of away game tickets and not to worry about it if that was my rationale for ordering through them.
