I agree, CGC does use too much hyperbole and Coach speak, especially for our Fanbase, most Fans understand Coach speak is part of the job and they filter through the garbage to get to what's important, but our Fans get way too focused on the Coach speak.PMC, "perspective and situational awareness" comes primarily from being there and living it from being more involved than most are now. Culling the herd is a relative thing, and someone from Alabama, Florida, and Miss. State doesn't change observed habits overnight, huh? Btw, we were not even close to Bama and uga, even before the arms race, today to claim otherwise would be called disinformation. Even though we had TEs back then, we wouldn't pay them like Neb, OU, and uga, so they tended to be not quite as good. Also, you might want to brush up on the not so convenient facts surrounding the Jan Kemp trial. For good measure, you might want to track down a copy of the 1980 Tech vs uga game and talk to us again about talent gaps.
Look, anyone that knows a lick about CFB knew good and well that the conversion would be difficult, but to hype it up to ridiculous levels is not helpful because people know better and wonder why it's being said, which in turn makes them wonder about other hyped up comments. I won't list them because people already know what they are.
One final note, there are many many more talented ball players in high school now vs then, so maybe it is possible to build quicker, provided you truly back up oft repeated claims about elite recruiting. The 2022 class is approaching that, so there is hope, as long as next season produces Ws. I think it's possible, but if we don't, the hype machine is out of gas.
So , I'll give you that, all coaches do the coach speak, and our Fans need to realize that this isn't the 1960s, you're not going to scream a FB Player into improvement, that model of coaching is never going to come back, so a lot of them will be disappointed going forward.
Except for the QB position, Chan had us pretty close to UGA and was fired before he found a good QB, there's no sin in admitting that.
