2017 ACC schedule

2-bye era isn't due to conference scheduling, it's due to how labor day and new years falls IIRC. Every so many years there's an extra week because Labor day is the 1st Monday in September but New years is a fixed date. I think.

Also, two years is a small sample size, but it you expand it back to '08 you'll find that GT and VT are by far the most affected by opponents byes. I think GT is probably #1.

It's not just the extra prep time, teams are gonna be on average healthier coming off a bye without a game to cause injuries and time to rest pre-existing injuries.

I don't have any gripes with GT's schedule itself -though I am tired of a seemingly inordinate amount of ACC teams getting bye weeks prior to facing us.

That aside, the front part of the schedule is pretty good -UT in the CFA followed by OOC games, then 3 of 4 ACC games at home with a bye prior to Thurs night @ Da U.

Things get a little tough starting with Clemson, but we do have UVA and Duke on the back end.

I don't really count Miami as having a BYE before us. We play them on a Thursday night. It's typical to have the Saturday before off (we have the same BYE). Wake isn't a gimme, but I don't see them having a BYE as a big enough advantage to beat us. Clemson having a BYE is scary, but that would be a tough game either way.

Once again our home games are front loaded into September. And we have one home game in October. Wish we could balance that out a little better.

I'd rather have as few home games in September as possible, since it's usually 90 degrees. At least the game in the dome will be air conditioned.

Not as bad(biased) as recent years. The Clemson one pisses me off and the Duke bye week then army before us is a bit of a interesting coincidence. However those games are later in the season when we are getting things running smoothly on offense.

The big dogs hate us and then little ol' Duke can't stand us.

F them.

Season ticket renewals are now available. $380 (plus Tech Fund if applicable) for the season including Tennessee game isn't too bad. Also links to seating chart for CFA Kickoff. Looks like we have decent seats available.

Anyone else a little surprised they included Tenn game in the season tix package?

Glad they included the Tenn game in the package. For some reason I assumed we were only getting 5 @ BDS + Tenn

Happy they included Tennessee. The face value of the kick off classic is normally $100. Wears getting a deal.

For those wondering what section they will be in for this game, the checkout page on the renew website, will show what section you are in for the game.

At first I thought, wow, Duke doesn't have a bye before us this year! Finally.

But no, they outdid themselves: A bye AND a practice game before us!!

There may be a chance Monken decides to screw with them though.

GT season tickets are probably the cheapest way to experience the new Falcons stadium in 2017. That's a no-brainer even if you're not a tech fan.
