2020 Recruiting

I don't think we're going to have a problem with the roster. I knew there were special provisions for new head coaches, but not sure how many years they can use these rules. I've been researching it and I found this:

Is that unique to a coaching change? I think coaches always have the freedom to remove a player from the team, and the school still has an obligation to guarantee the athlete's free education.

I think we might expect another transfer or so today. Super tight lipped so far.

Really ready for some juice gif's around 1:30

Jaquari Wiggles signed with UT Chattanooga today.

Morton is going to JUCO.

Baker signed with Bama but has work to do to avoid JUCO.

Rashad Battle signed with Pitt.

So you're thinking Gibbs will be our only other signing today? Do we still have a shot with Davis or is FSU a foregone conclusion?

High probability he goes FSU.

If only Gibbs then I’m fine with that. Great class as is with Gibbs.

Word is Davis has already sent his paperwork into FSU, just waiting on 2pm for the hat show.

Beats me. I did work with his mom though.

Can you give me the CliffsNotes?

Basically, it seems he could have been a lock to GT but then he started going on other official visits (we don't care but it seemed strange bc he seemed 100% GT). He was actively "recruiting" for us and talking up 404 and stuff like that. Then it seemed like he had 100% switched to Illinois but he told them he was going to wait until Feb or something and they signed someone else and didn't have room for him anymore.

Somewhere in there GT and him parted ways. I'm not sure what caused it or exactly when.

Curious if you have a link/cite? I'd like to know more about these technicalities.
The link in my original post you quoted is what I'm going by. I have been told that there are special provisions for new coaches to aide them in managing their roster and keeping within scholarship limits. This is all I've been able to find and it falls in line with what I've heard. I don't know how long a new coach gets to use this (2 seasons maybe?) but I do know that a coach that has been at a school for a number of years can't just tell a kid he's not on the team anymore and that kid still keep a scholarship from the school. Here's the link again:
