2021 Recruiting

Alcoa has been really good (for TN football) too - 5 state titles in a row. Very few teams even scored on them last year. I'm excited for this commit!
 
This is weird.He is a stud but he supposedly does NOT have a Tenn offer and they give out offers like gumdrops..

Maybe we're going to run a different type defense than them. Maybe we're going to be more athletic up front.

Mebbe, but if Tenn had decided not to be athletic up front, they are not going to take down Georgie any time soon. I think they were just told early in the process he was not going to Knoxville, period.

Or they think he is only a middlin' three star, in which case I am happy he is below their radar, cuz what I see is not a middlin' three star. If he were an inch taller or 20# heavier, he would be much higher rated, and his current size is fine for a HS senior you are recruiting.

Maybe they’re first offering the guys out there that are 1+ inches taller and 20+ pounds heavier?

Im an advocate of the “any early commit is good commit” philosophy because they’re probably high on our board. But if he was the #1 SDE on our board than we must have decided a lot of kids weren’t realistic. Which isn’t a knock on Carroll as much as it is awe of the DLs the factories get every year.

There's usually a place for an athlete like Grey in most 3-4's. You stand them up. The diff is once they signed Grey you keep them around 250#. If they get too big you put them at 5T.

Also most 3-4's still use a lot of 4-2, which is really most everyone's true base defense these days. Grey can play in a 4-2.

I gotta think either UT did not want him specifically, or he was clear he did not want UT.

Good Grief. See Gibbs for example. There is plenty of talent that gets missed early and often. Maybe he was our #1 period.
 
At this time I'm believing in our staff's evaluation ability for where they're trying to take us, I guess the proof's in the pudding several yrs from now.
 
Only athletes report offers. It is doubtful he'd be offered and not report it, but there are some cases where people have reasons to shut down interest from a school so it goes nowhere. Gibbs pretty much did that with UGAg for example.
 
Hey, if married couples can put together elaborate ceremonies involving contraptions and dozens of people to unveil Blue or Pink, of which at least one such attempt caused a deadly wildfire, we can let a kid plan the best day to unveil his college choice.
 
Anyone know if we're trying to get any more transfers for GTFB? If so, what positions and/or who?

I heard from a friend of mine that Collins is making a move with Smael Mondon and Kory Foreman. Really need to sign players of that quality.

I looked up those two and they're not transfers, they're HS recruits. Their profiles would indicate, yes would certainly like to have them, but my specific question was about transfers.
