From another board via a poster who claims to be a Pace alum.

“A lot of rich parents who want to win at all costs. Chris Slade also hates Tech, he told kids on the team when I was there to stay as far away from Tech as they could. He holds a grudge from when he played at UVA and talks about it all the time in private/to the team.”

Slade is the HC at Pace.

Cause Tech beat them in 1990? I guess he’s still butt hurt. I honestly doubt he cares anymore. You have to imagine also that new relationships are getting built there by Collins.
 
IMO, Slade doesn't hate Tech but he didn't like PJ and, moreover, Lamar Owens who "recruited" Pace for Paul.

Ok, at least that is a reason and I do know HS coaches get on these power trips.

It is awful behavior from a person of authority (if true). You have to put your players first and what is best for them. I don’t mind if he gives UVA a heads up on players and pushes UVA (within limits) but unless a coach is dirty or a scumbag, he should never bad mouth a program.

Is Pace the school/program that is supported by Blank?

The Pace relationship was sour due to our previous staff who handled things very poorly with a number of local programs; I don’t think it is an issue anymore.

Weve made inroads locally which are bearing fruit; were recruiting Pace and Woodward kids heavily and are likely to get 2 elite 2022 recruits from there. We also have built a strong pipeline into Grayson.
 
Any word on if we are also making inroads at Westminster and Lovett? Pace, Woodward, Westminster, and Lovett seem like black dirt recruiting grounds for us
