2025 Recruiting

If I'm not mistaken, the early signing day is Wednesday this week. I hope we lock in most of this class now.
Yes, that is correct. I thought it was not until next week, but there is an AJC article that confirms that it is this Wednesday. And we now have the 2nd best recruiting class in the ACC, second only to Miami, and ahead of SMU and Clemson

If we can pull this off consistently then we may just have a chance to get good.

Did we pull Kam Cullins offer? Looks like he committed to Liberty so if not, it bodes well to us pulling in a better player in his spot. I hope to see LB/DL adds here soon. Lets win 10 in 2025

We don’t want Chastan Brown.

Hasenheutl went public today but it didn’t happen today.
Why do we not want Chastan Brown? A space issue? Grades issue? I don't remember us turning down potentially interested 4 star linemen without a reason.

This staff isn't just taking a kid because somebody who doesn't coach football rated a guy 4*. That was the last coach. Have you looked at the rest of our OL class? They like other guys better than Brown.

The foundation of this historic class for tech is on the OL and DL. Key is building strength in the trenches, where championships are made.
I used to go to the Breakfast with Bobby things - 6am Fri morning before home games They were great - maybe 10-15 people attended and very informal. I never asked any questions for fear of looking stupid but someone asked him - "So, how many linemen do you expect to sign this class?" Without even blinking, Ross replied: "A whole bevy of 'em." as though it was patently obvious.

Not obvious to everyone, apparently but pretty clear to Key it seems.

There was one year (inside of the last 10 seasons) where we signed ONE offensive lineman.

2002 - 1 OL
2006 - 0 OL
2019 - 0 OL

Key, the former OL, takes over:

2023: 5 OL
2024: 5 OL
2025: 6 OL

It's funny, when I was younger, I always got excited about the skill position guys signing with us. Now that I'm older and have seen what happens when your OL is like swiss cheese, you can have all the talent in the world at WR, QB and RB but it won't do you a damn bit of good if you can't block.
