We wouldn't want people who don't know they have it to spread it to other people who will never know they have it.
I’m aware your post is sarcasm, but that’s literally the point. Because one of those people who isn’t aware they have it may carelessly spread it to someome who does get sick or dies.

Eventually we should have covid-free players if we can keep them in an isolated environment. Probably much easier said than done, though.
That’s not possible with college. There is no bubble like the NBA. Players can technically do whatever they want outside of organized football activities.

It's amazing how the basis for panic and fear changes month to month. First it was 2 million deaths, then it was a shortage of ventilators, then it was the death count. Now we have people freaking out about a few players with mild viral respiratory infections. Better shut down our society and economy quick because a cold virus might be in the forecast.
It's amazing how the dismissal changes month to month. First it was never going to his the US, then it was going to disappear in a few days, then it was going to just be a handful of people. Now we have people dismissing 130k+ dead Americans! Better just say 'it's something we'll have to live with, nothing we can do about it' as we don't do anything to mitigate it like wear a mask or social distance.

Real talk tho it's awful that our players have it. I hope they're on the side with no/milder symptoms. We still don't know what long-term issues could be from this, and there's a big group of people that have had harsh symptoms of the disease for weeks/months on end with life altering consequences who have been dismissed because those who seek to 'minimize' the disease point to it like a black and white issue where you're either part of the super super small group that dies (only 0.5% wake up sheeple!) or you show no symptoms.

There is something we can do about it. Since half the deaths have been among residents of long-term care facilities, and the median age of deaths is about 80, we could focus our resources on the people who are at risk. They could be could be isolated, tested, and contact traced much more effectively if the focus was directed at individuals who need to be protected from COVID. Meanwhile, the majority of the economy would be sustained so we avoid the collateral damage of destroying people's businesses and mental well-being, and depriving youth of critical educational experiences. Oh yeah, we'd also already be approaching herd immunity if we didn't slow the natural spread among healthy individuals.

Seems about right. Around 5% of Georgia has caught it so far.
